If you unlocked L5 missions and get some people to do it with you, and those people haven't unlocked L5s yet, do they still receive rewards/payout after completion? Can you even share the mission with them?

Uhm. As they are just missions, why do you expect they behave differently then level 1 to 4?

because they are different, even if only in terms of geographic availability and scale.

I assumed that you cant do missions of a higher level if you haven't unlocked them. Likewise if you party with someone who has unlocked higher levels, you still don't share the rewards/pay since you haven't unlocked them cause they cant share a mission with someone who hasn't unlocked them. I guess I still have the mindset of quests from other MMOs where you have to unlock certain quests to do repeatable quests. My bad.

well test it with a friend who hasn't the standing with that particular corps lvl 4 agent, the result should be the same with a lvl5

There's no 'locking' or 'unlocking' of missions. All there is are agents who may trust you enough to give you a job or may not trust you. They don't care who you take along to help you, they don't even care if you do the mission yourself or get someone else to do so. All they care about is that they give you a job and the job gets done.

The only difference between a L5 and a L1 - 4 mission, they are in low-sec.

The entire mechanics besides that (including fleeting up to do them together aswel as how you share the rewards) EXACTLY the same.

See, assumption is the mother of all fuckups.

If someone fleets up with you, you can warp to their mission and run it together, no matter what your standings are, as it's HIS mission, your the groups mission.

He when turning in the mission can decided to share the rewards or keep it all for himself.

As for the highlighted:

Forget about other games....THIS is EVE, not (insert name of other game). Why do people expect that if another game it works like that, any other game works the same way.

My previous car had the reverse next to the first gear, current car it's below the 5th on the stick....Why isn't it like my other car...

Isn't thats what asking questions are for to correct any assumptions one may have? Hence why at the end I said, "My bad" Lol

Don't take it personally, its a common thing for people to come to eve expecting it to be like other mmos only to have their preconceived notions shattered (often in hilariously expensive explosions),
then to declare the unique qualities of eve to be "wrong" and demand that ccp cater to what they feel eve should be.

though to your credit,
you appear to be one of the adjective few who seem to recognise what's actually going on so much respect to you for that.

I've been still getting my bearings. But everytime a question is answered it spawns a new one, lol. Its exciting to know that there is no proverbial wall so to speak, where all questions are answered and there is nothing left to learn.

I used to do level 5 missions back when you could get the missions in high sec, so I can confirm from my own experience that the posters above are correct.

Hope that helps.

Yep, you can do L5s that someone else in your fleet has unlocked.

However, the person that has unlocked the agent can betray you and take all of the credit themselves. As L5s offer completion rewards that are in the tens of millions of ISK (tens of thousands of LP albeit with bad factions), be ready for them to use you then keep the reward for themselves.

Unlocking L5s yourself might allow you to do this to your future 'friends'. Just a thought.

Eh, not sure that betraying people for one mission's reward is really worth it. The pirate epic arcs though...

The sheer amount of topics you are interested in is impressive. Don't feel like you have to learn everything at once though. Some things (level 5s, incursions, capital ships, etc.) are really only accessible to players with a reasonable amount of skill points and can be locked away as "I'll finish learning about this later when I need it".

This.

Start with the basics, get your basic bearing. The more advanced stuff can always be asked later when needed (who knows, you might not want to run missions or incursions or never want to fly a capital).

And with a lot of stuff, when you know the basics and get some knowledge by gameplay, they will answer themselfs.
Originally, when I just joined, I wanted to know how the SOV system worked and how people held their ground there (back in the days where the Northern Coalition was an actual coalition and not an alliance with a dot).

I learned most of the SOV mechanics by being part of a SOV holding alliance for a while and learned stuff by trial and error.
