Purpose of flashlight on supercaps?

Browsing ISIS I noticed that many of the capital ships sport flashlights, particularly the Gallente hulls. What is the purpose of these? They never land or operate in atmosphere afaik and they certainly don't need them to illuminate their way in space.

Capsuleers at least have "camera drones".

Perhaps the rest have something similar, and it helps orient themselves.

Why go with the "camera drone" thing? Just say it reconstructs sensor data as a visual simulation for our human mind to understand and interact with.

i actually quite like this, headlights are instead sensors, but colored for us to see.
