Warp Stability and the use of it ?

Hi all

Ive been using the viator blocade runner quite a bit when flying into lowsec. Nice ship and all. But I have been looking at the occator (spelling) which has a +2 warp stabaliser and alot more space. But how hard is that ship to warp scramble ? I sometimes see legions with a dramiel camping some of the gates where i pass easily with the viator. if i started useing the occator would i still be able to get through or how should i see it ?

If you make it a habit of using it at the same gates, they are going to start camping with a heavy interdictior, and your extra warp stability won't mean anything. Until that though, it will warp with 2 points of tackle (Scram's provide 2 points, disruptors one.) But there is a reason people don't use them alot in low-sec. They are decent ships for AFK hauling though Hi-sec space though.

True Sansha Warp Scrambler + Lach or a heavy dictor will make you have a bad day

just do what everyone else does...

Occators are too heavy for an efficient mwd+cloak trick and there'll still be a chance for you to get intercepted by a capable tackler. And also the ship is unagile enough for a battleship to lock it, so if there's a camp of more than 2 persons chances are high you won't make it through w/o some additional warp strength.

Ah, you seek meaning? Then listen to the music, not the song.

I do fairly well with the MWD cloak trick in an occator. I live in a WH with a Lowsec static, so I am hauling in supplies thru LS systems all the time.

That being said, my first run is always with the Viator first. I only use the Occator once I am sure the route is quiet and still log in my other account as a scout.

I feel pretty comfortable in the Occator's ability to get past a simple camp (which I have done) but I would never try running it through active hostile territory. The only time I have run it through hostiles would be times where I was scouting a gate, looked clear and then 1-2 hostiles show up as I am jumping through.

Hauling large amounts of cargo in safeish space for people who dont like the idea of putting 40M ISK cargo rigs on a tissue-paper-tanked 1M ISK Ity V - the triple-ply quilted tank of the occator can at least withstand a few hits from rats while scooping up a can of Crokite. The +2 WCS also means it's not quite so vulnerable to roaming belt gankers.

However, don't be fooled by the +2 WCS strength, it is not made for getting around hostile space more hauling in 'safe' 0.0 space.

How to fit it?

I have an Improved Cloaking Device II in the top slot.

Lows are all cargo expanders

Mids, a shield buffer

Rig it if you want with Cargohold rigs.

Takes a full jet can and more, or lots from an Orca.

Or alot of PI

okis so it will take 3+ warp scrambler points or an interdictor (only flying lowsec so no bubbles) to stop me from warping. I was planing on having a scout run in front of me. so i know if i will hit a bigger gate blocade ahead of time but you never know if they arrive as i jump in. Reason for the occator is sheer volume.
