Crius, EVE Online's second release under the new six week release cadence, has been successfully deployed!

With changes to industry, new industrial functionality and endpoints in the API, in-space user interface improvements, more little things, the introduction of teams, an overhaul of reprocessing, more starbase changes, and a whole host of other improvements, Crius is set to reshape industrial gameplay in EVE, streamlining processes and giving more power to the most important part of EVE Online; our players.

For full details of this release please check the patch notes.

This thread is for reporting Macintosh issues only. To report PC issues please see this thread.

For general feedback, please use the Crius Feedback thread here.

I get this error after the patch

Verification Failure
Your EVE client installation may have modified, damaged or corrupt files. Please run repair.exe located in the EVE game directory or re-install the game client.
Verification failed: 'C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\bin\staticdata\mapObjects.db', crc:277445f8, expected:ed27faab.

Any ideas on what I should do?

Zenox, This type of error occurs quite often. Try restarting your Mac, and switch off any firewall you might have, such as "Hands Off".

Tried it, no success.

5th time I try to download a new client to see if that help. The fist 4 times the downloaded file was corrupt...

Let's see if it randomly locks up like every single version of EVE on the Mac to date ;)

Lauresh, Probably will. Lost two ships recently because of lock-ups/freezing. Reply was delete all my settings - as a first rather than last resort. Not too impressed with Mac support.

Zenox, I've had the corruption error quite a few times, and sad to hear that the restart/firewall doesn't now work. I'll expect more problems then from now on.

To be fair, every client-breaking issue I've ever had in 12+ months was 100% reproducible. Blink
There's been a variety of them, sure, but every one I learned what actions trigger it. Cool
Learning to delete certain config files instead of my entire settings or redownloading the client for the fifth+ time was the watershed moment.

Launching client in 3...2...1... success. \o/

Do not actively tank my patience.

I'm downloading the patch right now. In a few minutes it will be done. I have no hopes for the freezing issue to be fixed.

UPDATE. EVE Time: 2014.07.22 21:07

Played for about 40 minutes and froze while mining ice. Need to test some more, but it seems that this constant freeze issue was not resolved.
Would be great to hear from CCP if anything is being done to find the cause of this plague.

Mac client still messed up.

Unfortunately almost any freezing issue is going to be at the Cider layer and not the client layer. CCP can't fix CIder on their own, and Cider updates are only pushed out periodically. With Cider being updated as recently at Khronos, I would not expect another update in the near future.

Can't even play now on my Mac. After the patch as soon as I get into game it lockups my entire machine. I have to power cycle to get a functioning computer again.

Update : Clearing my cache seem to fix the instant lock up problem

I'm seeing increased temps (88c with fans running at 6200rpm) and random freezes when launching the game.

Still no audio output at all in EVE when using an external [USB] audio interface. The interface (via CoreAudio, set to system default) works fine otherwise throughout the system, whether videos on YouTube, ITunes or my DAW. Using internal audio works (by setting it to system default in OS X).

You can change your audio once the client is running. I play windowed mode. Change to interal speakers before start up the. Switch back to my companion 5 after I click my toon.

If you have the audio button in your menu bar > alt/option clicking the icon should open up a list of inputs and out puts.
Beats having to open system prefs each time.

Well, sure I can. I just don't understand why my external and much nicer setup won't work since no other games I've tried so far has made a single complaint - they all work with full audio via the external interface.

Everything is also connected (lots of cables) for audio recording/DAW use and my laptop is out of reach from where I play (external screen, keyboard etc) so I'd rather not mess around just to play EVE (head phones + internal would work ok but I'd rather use speakers and save my head space for a wet towel in this heat).

I honestly can't remember if this bug (?) goes way back or if it's recent and/or whether it's connected to the wrapper or not.

Anyway, thanks for the heads up on the practical shortcut, actually wasn't aware of that one.

When playing with 2 clients open, quitting one client freezes the other. Happens irrespective of whether I open the clients with the launcher or through the terminal.

I've been having issues logging in since Crius dropped. Every now and then it will randomly let me log in but the vast majority of the time it locks up half way through Authenticating.

I've tried rebooting my machine, repairing the client, logging into other accounts all with no success.

Crius is quite literally unplayable for me.

They probably aren't corrupt, it is probably Apple's built in App thing.

If you downloaded the whole file - I think you just need to right click and say open. might need to hold alt/option when the pop up window is open.

should make it work.

I hear you, and this issue only goes back to Kronos. Something with Cider or w/e it is they use to bottle EVE for mac.

Someday we can only hope!

Question? are you logging both toons from the launcher or is one a clone.

If launcher then yeah, that problem is carried over from Kronos.

You can work around it via using the clone maker or w/e CCP calls it.

Dropbox link -- https://www.dropbox.com/s/7ks8s9g69b11pas/EVE%20Clonemaker.zip

I always got errors for downloading it from CCP, but probably just Apples building 3rd party developer blocker.

Hope this helps!
