iPhone support "spotty" at best.

So I got called up the other night to help with a capital fleet, but I was at work and in the bathroom, so decided to remote control my PC at home for the engagement. This appears to have been a mistake.

I undocked my Archon and waited for the cyno, unfortunately within this time period I was bumped and scrammed by a stabber fleet issue and was sent tens of kilometers off station, this was not ideal, and furthermore I had no way of knowing due to incredible latency, my signal was terrible in the bathroom.

Luckily our home defense fleet was around and ran off all but two of the attackers who fell before homeland defense.

I guess my story is that the iPhone while amazing isn't yet up to par with the outdated keyboard and mouse interface, and it might not be a great idea to PVP with it quite yet.

That being said, when can we expect CCP to fully support iPhone based gameplay?

Lolno. Are you really that dumb to be playing EVE, especially while piloting an Archon, on your iPhone?

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

I too want a job that is so unimportant that I can sit on the pooper for a fleet battle and not be fired.

If you load a floppy disk into the iPhone it helps.

Perhaps, but thankfully It docked safely.

No attempts to mislead have been made, I just sharing my experiences with others so they don't "leap" into the wireless revolution without looking as I had done.

I am certain some sort of Dongle exists to facilitate that =)

Shooting a Phoenix that has already been tackled solo is hardly a challenge, the technology was unreliable that is all.

Dammit man! Tom Gerard threads are all about the people watching!

It's more about confirming the anecdote about the birth rate of suckers, to be honest.

De'Veldrin's Corollary (to Malcanis' Law): Any idea that seeks to limit the ability of a large nullsec bloc to do something in the name of allowing more small groups into sov null will inevitably make it that much harder for small groups to enter sov null.

I'll bite...

Not for a while. Back in 2005 the university of Iceland had some students working on a mobile version of eve that could be used on the blackberry and iphone. No other info besides that was ever released or stated, we only got confirmation fully from the devs at the first eve vegas gathering that was put on by black hole bob. The students, however, graduated and the project was left to collect dust.

in 2012, the Executive Producer of EvE moved over to the CCP mobile dept. Not much was heard as to what projects were gonna come. At fanfest 2013 they said that apps were coming, and we could watch fan fest via an app on out phones... Then in 2013 dust was launched, Valk was made, and by the end of it CCP changes focus again and scrapped the mobile dept. As of right now, AFAIK there are zero plans for an eve mobile client. Though some work is being made on making it accessible via tablets with touch (watch ccp presents keynote from 2014 for more info) so who knows.

OMG Comet Mining idea!!! Comet Mining!

5. Trolling is prohibited.

Trolling is a defined as a post that is deliberately designed for the purpose of angering and insulting other players in an attempt to incite retaliation or an emotional response. Posts of this nature are disruptive, often abusive and do not contribute to the sense of community that CCP promote.
