Interdictor Bubbling on Station Undock OR Allow Smartbombs Again

I'm actually amazed no one has mentioned this before...

How about instead of trying all this difficult ****, you simply wait until he undocks to launch another bubble (his first bubble still needs to be up or he'd be utterly useless) and as he's waiting out session timer, you WARP INSIDE HIS FIRST BUBBLE!!!!!
This will give him an aggro timer, BLAP, problem solved...

He'd have to be REALLY close on his timing between the 2 bubbles to actually evade that trick...


EDIT: So apparently they changed it, disregard in that case...
They should bring the old system on that back, way more fun

The aggro timer for warping in a bubble was removed many moons ago.... I suggested bringing it back.

I think this is a perfect solution. That way interdictors can still bubble a gate and jump through to the other side. But it would destroy their ability to spam bubbles on station once someone warped inside the bubble.

I definitely don't think just launching a bubble should give an aggro timer.

Or like I said in my subject we could simply eliminate the smartbomb radius rule in 0.0. I would still love an explanation on why this exists in 0.0 and how it would possibly be abusive.


Here is how smartbombs on the undock are abusive:

Imagine the typical Nullsec NPC dweller. These are members of small corps and alliances, and often have to rely on evasive tactics to avoid forces they can't compete against.

If you enable smartbombing on the undock, the members of these small groups wouldn't even be capable of undocking a ship more fragile than a heavily tanked cruiser without fear of getting smartbombed to death before they can warp and/or redock.

Agony often holds public PvP classes, including all-frigate roams through nullsec. We had entire classes of 40-60 members camped into kickout stations before, because undocking is an instant ship-destruction & podding experience. If you enabled this on all NPC stations, we could NEVER dock the class up for a break.

I understand you think its annoying to have your capitals stuck in station by an interdictor, which I understand. However, your proposed smartbomb change simply moves the people that get stuck in station from capital pilots to anyone in a small ship. What is more, your capital pilots have more options available to them than instant ship destruction and podding. They can slowboat out of the bubbles. They can destroy the bubbles using bombers. They can destroy the "snipers" that attempt to snipe the bombers (fyi, there is no such thing as unprobeable anymore, and an inty can easily run off any sniper.

Changing the smartbomb mechanic for smartbombing station undocks is NOT a viable solution.

Working as intended.

If you want to have the immunity of living in an NPC station, then you just have to accept the fact that others can use this immunity against you.

CCP should add more NPC 0.0 space to open it up and liven things up: the Stepping Stones project.
