It seemed a good idea to get them at the time, and they looked so small and cute, but the food and medical bills mount up, they get bigger than you expected, and keep crapping on the carpet.

3 common options: They forgot to pull them in, the operator died, or they disconnected from them to launch a new flight but never reconnected.

I do it in PVP so I can deploy a second flight to confuse hostiles. It's quite devilish, and quite amusing when the guy trying to kill your drones keeps killing the ones that you've abandoned instead of the new ones you put out. Awesome tactic for Ishkur pilots. And then, if your opponent gets wise, you can scoop the first flight and repeat the process, or abandon individuals and reconnect randomly.

Yes but you can't leave those snotty brats drifting in space.

Yet. So help me, I'll find a way someday.

The ones I abandon aren't drones

They are one-sebiestor fighters

You can tell by the welded-up

You mean to tell me I've been releasing all these rehabilitated drones back into the wild only to have some prick come along and scoop them back to a life of captivity????

In my case they tend to abandon them because I uncloak right beside them at my perfect optimal.

Ramona, you must be picking up the dregs of Sebbie clones who can't activate the warp drive on their fighters to follow their master..

Ive made a past time of this: I fly around low sec and pick up stray drones.

Many are hungry and sick. I take them home and patch them up, get them spayed/neutered and try to find them new homes.

So why do people abandon drones?

It usually happens after a fight, Wrecks gets popped to deny loot whent he winning party is done looting. Drones arent worth much, so they get left behind. (Stray drones are usually connected to the wrecks that used to be)

Because some people (read: me) are so disasterously bad with drones that I forget to:
a) use them
b) put drones in my drone bay
c) on the rare occasion I remember them, recall them after a fight.

Seriously, I'm never gonna be training Carrier. I would be the worst Carrier pilot in EvE.

FC: Launch fighters, primary will be (insert name here) in (insert ship type).
Me: DOH! I forgot to put them in my drone bay.
*carrier explodes*

Quoted from Doc Fury: "Concerned citizens: Doc seldom plays EVE on the weekends during spring and summer, so you will always be on your own for a couple days a week. Doc spends that time collecting kittens for the on-going sacrifices, engaging in reckless outdoor activities, and speaking in the 3rd person."

They abandon their drones for the sole purpose of driving me mad while I'm using combat probes. OCD kicks in and I HAVE to clean up the the mess. A clean abattoir is a happy abattoir.

Come hell or high water, this sick world will know I was here.

tiredness and forgetfulness
alcohol and forgetfulness

When there is desperate warp out call, you press warp to and pray... drones get left behind.

Multi drones ships can operate only 5 drones at a time, sometimes calling slow heavy drones back takes too long, especially when their MWD charge is depleted. So it is better to abandon slow boating drones and launch a new wave of a different type.

This post sums up why the 'best' work with DCM inc.

WARP DRIVE makes eve boring

really - add warping align time 300% on gun aggression and eve becomes great again

I'll mention it,

No don't do that, I'm very undecided regarding my direction in EVE at the moment. Ever since I found out about my stomach cancer, I've been trying to chill. I had to get out of RIGID and escape the stress of politics and training newbs, and now I'm just doing my own thing for a while and avoiding too much stress until my spirits improve. I've had my surgery and I've just started treatment so, I'm taking a few weeks to adjust and not over-do it in EVE, and play some other games I haven't in a while. Spent most of my day today designing a mission to Dres on KSP, that was fun.

Still PVP'ing and shitting up high sec in EVE when I'm in a good mood but, for the most part, I've been doing a lot of carebearing - building standings for locator agents in various places around EVE or just ratting to pass time.

Also, when I'm really back on my feet and ready to dive in again 100%, I'll probably end up rejoining RIGID. I have very good friends there and strong loyalty to that alliance.

Good luck with that mate ..
