Does anyone else hate isk doublers?

I know they are an easy scam to spot, avoid, and IGNORE, but new players might not know that. I feel like these "isk doublers" are bad for the game because they prey upon new players. New players who are trying to learn the game are less likely to continue playing when they stupidly give away their money. Sure its their responsibility to be smart with their isk, but at the same time can anyone make a valid argument as to what isk doublers bring to the game? The answer is NOTHING, and they should be banned from isk "doubling".

I also dont like how my occasional shopping trips into Jita are just filled with spam spam spam.

Anyways, thats my 2 cents! Flame away!

Too be honest, I'm pretty indifferent about them.

But then, I rarely go into market hubs. And when I do, local is minimized.

No.

And the notion that new players are somehow specially affected is pretty silly since they don't have the cash the doublers are after and since they are just as capable as everyone else to spot an obvious scam when they see one.

Beyond that, ISK doublers provide the valuable service of parting idiots from their money in a highly efficient manner.

No, I don't "hate" anyone for how they play in the sandbox. That's the most wonderful thing about EVE online - there is room for everyone. E-bushido nuts, scammers, theives, awoxers, belligerent undesirables, miners, mission runners, null sec sov grinders, whatever.

As for any of these groups being "bad" for the game - I am going to have to disagree. EVE would not be EVE without the scamming, spamming, piracy, theft... all of it :)

What ISK doublers "bring to the game" is called "Emergent Gameplay" - CCP sets up the sandbox and the game mechanics, and pretty much leaves us alone to do what we want with it. To be blunt, your public desire to have people "banned" from playing in the sandbox in a way you don't approve of makes me worry that you really don't understand the spirit and nature of the game you are playing. Dare I ask: what do *you* "bring to the game"? Do you create content?

Don't like tradehub spam? Spend 5 mins everytime you are in a trade hub blocking the spammers. After a few visits - you'll find that tradehubs can be lovely places to chat with others. CCP gives you all the tools you need, you just need to use them - and I think that using the tools you have versus calling for banning specific types of gameplay just makes a lot more sense - don't you agree?

New players and stupid players are not the same thing. They often intersect, but they are not the same thing.

Besides, haven't you ever heard of "a fool and his money"? Anyway, reported for closure, since it's an unproductive rant.

No.

They don't affect me in the slightest and personal responsibility is fundamental to this game. In that respect, if anything, they make the game better by their presence.

Nope, an isk doubler rekindled my love of the game when I reached critical burnout.

To me they are spammers. What they do with their endless junk rolling over the chat window, often 5-10 times a minute is very much the definition of spamming. While an sich I'm ok with ISK doublers and scamming and all of that, I'm not OK with spamming. I'm not OK with the fact that certain local chat channels can just not be used anymore, because of them. I honestly don't understand why CCP hasn't actioned these as spammers yet. Chribba has tracked this and put the stats together several times in the past. I wouldn't even be surprised if half of these ISK doublers are really just spam bots.

Why would you hate someone who is willing to double your money out of the kindness of their own heart, OP?

Sounds to me like you've run afoul of some scammers. These people are obviously not honest isk doublers, and should be avoided.

If they are new to the game, they are not new to this (RL) world.

You just don't get double if you give your money to someone.... anywhere... not just in EVE.

Their spam is a bit annoying, but that's all.
