Remap and Skill help (Exploring & Recursion)

Hi all Eve players.

I recently came back after a shorter period of playing Eve. I feel like playing again sort of casual on a longer term basis this time, and therefore I have some questions for you.

First let me state that ISK is not a huge problem to me, I have around 5-10b from just a couple of months playing, and I can make around 200-400m ISK a day if I want to. (I know it is not awesome, but at least it is enough to start up the two things below I think)

1. regarding my main.

I want to do Recursions on this character. I wouldn't mind doing it in a big shiny Amarr type ship btw. I left this character remapped for INT, currently going through some relevant navigation skills. But what important Int skills must I take before grinding wp skills? This, I guess, is very ship/build dependant so any comments/builds for an Amarr BS would be great. Doesn't matter if it is a pirate or navy faction type of ship.

So basically any help on what necesary Int skills I must take before remapping again.

2. regarding an alt.

I want to start an alt on the side, mostly doing exploring. I'm going to remap him int, and then wp after, for a quickly grind of basic skills. I would like to fly an Astero or another not basic ship, if it is not too stupid. What basic Int skills do I need to take up before remapping to wp on this type of character?

Any help at all will be very much appreciated! :)

Hehe, 200 - 400mil a day is more than some earn per month or even a year :)

And there are Incursions :)

Int remap is useful mostly for skills related to fitting, cap, shields so rather support skills then primary for a ship. With that being said better to have excellent supports and low ship skill than other way around. Find some fit for incursion, check out Ships & Modules and Mission & Complexes forums, especially incursion related threads, there is healthy amount of info on this subject there.

When you will have a fit import it to Evemon to create a plan and see what you are missing. Remember that plan will be created for minimum skills to use said fit so play with it to find sweet spot between training time and bonuses you will get. Big shiny Amarr ship for incursions would be Paladin so you can start with fits for it.

As for exploration alt you need good probing skills so Astrometrics, Astrometric Pinpointing/Rigging/Aquisition. Sisters Expanded Probe Launcher and Sisters Core Scanner Probe, Scan Aquisition/Pinpoiting/Rangefinding Arrays would be modules you should be interested in. Again, a lot of fits around, just search for them and create training plan in Evemon to see what mapping you need.

If it looks like this, you will have a damn good start (Cloaking is always useful but not necessary, Sciene IV just for the T2 Tractors). A little hard to read but if they don't allow there own images on the forums...well...

Pretty much the same as above plus Astrometrics, Hacking and Salvaging will give you a good start there, too. Feel free to skip Advanced Target Managment and the MJD. T3s are nice for this job, I've chosen the Legion because it looks so damn cool with the Emergent Locus Analyzer.

If you want to use it for Incursions, I'd suggest looking up a few of the incursion groups that are running out there. With Amarr, you'll be in the market for armor fleets, and they'll have some of their "standard" BS fittings available.

You won't be able to afford those fittings. Not even close. Don't even try. You'll just be really sad when you buy those PLEXes, sell them, and then ganked, since those fittings are typically a neon sign that says, "Hey, come gank me."

Instead, you can plan your training toward that fit, and work your way up the ladder with cheaper fittings. I think the standard L4 Apoc these days is dual LAR? So LAZORS in the highs, cap modules in the mids, dual LAR + resists in the lows. That'll earn you money as you train, and eventually you'll be able to fly with the big boys.

Ok, thank you for the advices Jai.

Is it not a good idea to train shield, at least a bit, before remapping?

It would be. Most incursions fleets fly shield ships, so you'll have many more options in that regard. I've only heard of one major group that runs armor fleets for incursions.

I recommend you find a fitting that you are interested in training and plan your skill queue / remap around that. As mentioned above, many incursion groups will have information on exactly what fit they want you training toward. If you load the fit up in EFT, or some other external fitting tool, you can see exactly which skills have an effect on your ship and how they affect your stats. That should help you determine what to train and when to remap.

EVEMon is also a useful tool for skill plans and remapping (it will determine the optimal remap for your entire plan).

Skip the "at least a bit" part if you want to run incursions.

Most incursion fleets are shield based, thus it's more likely to find / easier to get into fleets that run shield doctrines.
