Fix for only safe gameplay

As afk cloaking is the only safe playstyle i suggest that it should be fixed. I know that this will anoy a lot of the playerbase, but i think i have a solution. All we need is a new type of booster that alows you to detect cloaked ships while useing combat scanner probes. To stop this being overpowered i suggest that the booster drawback is chance of loss of pod clone and implants as your brain becomes fried. That is plug in booster, suffer side effect and wake up in new clone...you could even get a KM on self for overdose death.

I must point out that as "AFK cloaking" requires one to be AFK, and as AFK is an acronym for "Away From Keyboard", an AFK cloaker is not at their keyboard and thus, by definition, not playing the game. Therefore, AFK cloaking is not a playstyle at all and does not need balancing as one.

What does need to be balanced is renting. Stop renting and the horrors of AFK cloaking will cease to be horrors... or even meaningful.

Maybe I should start showing up on the doorstep of all of these corps with members posting AFK cloaky threads and conduct a survey, see how many of the active members are capable of dealing with an AFK cloaky and how many just dock up and post on the forums....

Friendly surveys in local are within the rules, right? Lol

Other than station spinning, sitting in a POS shield or.... yep, you've got it, being cloaked whilst not AFK.

All these "play styles" have two things in common:

1) the player is immune

2) the player cannot shoot anyone

Whilst I'm not entirely happy with the situation as it is I don't think allowing people to probe out cloaked ships, even when dangerous to one's clone, is the way forward.

Also.... This has been suggested many many times in various incarnations. Yours is no better than any of the others, alas.

Bad posting is the only true safe playstyle. The OP understands this and elightens us with his mastery of the bad post.

I am afraid I have to decline from joining in. If I would have taken a shot every time I had to close another (AFK)-cloaking thread, I would have sadly died from liver failure quite a while ago.
