I was killed by space signature while cloaked. Bug or feature of Kronos?

I was cloaked 2500 m from the Contested Guristas Covert Research Facility, which killed me anyway.
After checking that facility is empty, I cloaked and continue scanning rest of the signals.

Working as intended. Cloaks make you invisible, not invulnerable.

The Coreli Corporation is recruiting.

What happens is the container explodes after a certain amount of time causing an AoE damage effect like a smartbomb. It doesn't need to target you to damage you. The damage is also apparently unresisted, which my Heron learned to its regret when I had it tanked with an invulnerability field for over 1000 hit points, but my ship still exploded after taking 940 damage.

Thanks! Now it is clear what happened. These kill mails are confusing :)
It laid the final blow, my a**.

The signature didn't kill you. The explosion AOE killed you. As someone else posted, cloaks make you invisible, not invulnerable.

An invul doesn't increase your hit points, it increases your EHP.
Killmails only show damage taken after resists. (-> hitpoints)

Log file as well. (100 damage from Foo, means you took 100 damage after resists.)
