An application on a Mac is not really an application, but a folder. A special folder called a package. You can open it by doing a secondary click (or right click) on your Eve Online icon and selecting "show package contents". Then follow the folders: contents, resources, to the real eve online application. Double click on that.

After installing Kronos update, the only issue i have noticed so far with my MBP is the graphics are shaky.. almost like they are vibrating. I have all the settings set to performance(using the in-game graphics optimizer). Ive restored the client, restarted my MAC, and it still has shakey graphics.

My Setup:
Macbook Pro
2.9 GHz Intel Core i7
8GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Intel HD Graphics 4000 w/ LG external Monitor using HDMI from Thunderbolt Port
OS X 10.9.3 (13D65)

Edit note... Launcher loads, logs in, let's me into the station I'm docked at. The graphics themselves are shakey and kind of looks like a 3D image without 3D glasses. My monitor is the only monitor I use, with my MBP closed so I'm not using the built in screen. Have never had this issue with my monitor until the Kronos release, and technically doesn't keep me from being able to play, but makes it very difficult on the eyes with all edges, lines, lettering, etc seeming to be vibrating and shaking like it's having a seizure

Got the exact same issue. But only the menu items though, the environmental graphics are fine.
First time I've run across this issue as well.
Got almost the same mac specs, appart from 2.6 GHz Intel Core i7 and 12GB ram.
: /

Yea. I got it fixed. Not sure how exactly. But did notice that switching to window mode stopped it. Then i messed with my monitors settings a bit and tried full screen again after a few more restarts and it finally was stable. I also unhooked my monitor and ran the client once without it(using the MBP built in screen), turn off my MBP, and restarted with my monitor hooked back up. I know it might now be much help. But something in that process reset either the thunderbolt port or my monitor and it worked. Hope u get it sorted out.

Mac OSX 10.7.5, as has been noted Kronos broke the previous clones created with Clonemaker. Recreating clones through Clonemaker aren't launch able. I prefer using the point-and-click tool; any chance this could be updated?

Addendum: Was able to "resurrect" my clones by deleting the apps and recreating with the same file name. There is a slight delay in launching the new clones.

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

can you explain the

Right click on EVE Online.app from meny select " Show Package Contents " ( YES SORRY I'AM VERY Dyslectic) then you will get in to The OSX app you like to fiddle with ( All apps is Folder, wthe an extension ) Idea .

In this new folder you se stuff, devises ( CCP say that "Devises do STUFF" so be verrrry ...... ) Roll

normal names of folders is:
1 Contents Arrow open it

and you now see this:

normal names of folders is:
1 Resources Arrow open it

in here you find the "real" app named EVE Online.app run sits one, and you bypass launcher , great för log of safe and in with alt fastest possible

BUT Patching dossent workAttentionAttentionAttentionAttentionAttentionAttention

hop it helps, els in game mail me, any replay to this that you like convo with me, EvE Mail, plz

Best regards and hope CCP gets a lot ISK in bank of Island , so they can by new fast UNIX servers so we can get our 5+ Drones back.

No chance to file a BR yet but wanted to put this up here. Multiple times this morning I've opened a second client from the launcher and then my client in the background freezes, every time.

Processor 2 x 3.2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
Memory 8 GB 800 MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT 512 MB
Software OS X 10.9.3 (13D65)

Will edit if clearing cache helps.

Surprised to hear about the problems people are having. I was genuinely giddy with the new patch because performance seems much better and my cooling fan never bothered to turn on past 2200rpm. Major improvement, since it was always pegged at 6200rpm on the previous version.

This is on my laptop screen, not an external screen. I will check later how it runs on my large screen.

My settings:

Anti-Aliasing: Medium
Shader Quality: Low
Everything else: High
Resource Cache: ON
HDR: ON
All effects: ON
Fullscreen: ON

Good evening,

I had an apparent hiccup in the patch download process where the module failed a checksum check. I changed the name of the config file in the /Users/moi/Library/Application Support for Eve folder to oldconfig and restarted the launcher; the launcher has been downloading a full patch, 1.24 GB worth, for a couple of minutes. Aaand now it says it's ready.

The checksum fail from memory is what occurred downloading the previous patch.

I'm on a MacBookPro10,1 that's about 10 months old, running 10.9.3.

Working great with minimal fan -- 3150rpm -- in fullscreen mode on this laptop driving a 1920x1200 external display. Hope you can resolve the issues others are having without changing a thing! Great work.

One minor note: When I turn anti-aliasing on (the performance of which is vastly improved, thanks!) - I lose the blinking ship lights (this is regardless of low, medium or high setting). Most notably ascent are the red lights on the 'prongs' on the dorsal side of the Barghest.

The installer for Macs doesn't have a functioning "Applications" link in the install window. I've gone around this by just dragging it into the Applications folder manually, no big deal, but it comes across as very unprofessional and entry-level when the installer itself isn't vetted enough for issues like this. If I was a brand new player starting today, this would be a huge red flag in relation to Mac support and integration.
Software Downloaded: eve-premium_009797_792006-mac.dmg

I agree -- the new user experience for the typical Mac user, who is used to a high degree of integration and ease of use, is sub-optimal. IIRC, when I installed a month or so ago, I had all sorts of trouble getting the darn thing to download and run the client the first time. I think that's mainly because the installer/launcher app is not certified by Apple's "gatekeeper" from a security perspective.

That said, the performance improvements in Kronos are very large, at least judging by the greatly reduced CPU usage, which translates into a nice cool CPU that requires less hot and noisy cooling fan action...

Sort of. You can partition your Mac or you could upgrade, purchase and install Parallels and then create a VM with whatever version you need to run the old software.

Incidentally what application is so important that you require an old OS to run it? Is there really no update or alternative after all these years?

I am having the same issue as #46 although it is sporadic for me. I run two accounts from the launcher in two windows. when closing or opening an account the other window stops responding 40% of the time. I have to force quit out of it or power cycle my mac to get it to reset. I actually had to unplug it once because when I tried to reboot the mac it said that "eve online canceled my reboot". wow, i'd like you to stop countermanding my orders to my OS. and I'd like you to stop freezing up. this two window method worked great until kronos. I use an imac with OS X 10.9.2

This is interesting - thanks. I will try partitioning. The 'work' SW is a bespoke plugin for Adobe - long story - but the VM may work. Appreciate the feedback.

Running multiple accounts from the launcher v2.1.655130 at once has not been properly tested on a Mac.
I can inadvertently log into the same account and arrive at the same character selection screen twice.
If I log an account out, any of the remaining accounts will no longer gain focus (other than to move window around by title).
Hence I have to resort to force quitting any other accounts.
It's a real pain esp. as I use in game notes on my main alt to keep track of time until skill queues run out in a note each day across my six accounts.
I am using Launcher rather than a clone maker version again at the moment, since the new Cider won't start old versions made with clone maker.
Also - even though auto play is ticked - one of the times I logged in it didn't proceed to character selection screen.
And it would be a great help if the title bar didn't just say Eve Online - but also had the character name in it. That would help with Alt-tabbing...
Running Mavericks 10.9.3 (13D65)
MBP Mid 2009 Model.
2.8Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo
NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256 MB
I'll add, that the lock ups on log out may be related to writing in notes before logging. 90% of time I have lockups on quitting one of sessions. But I have had no issues on one or two occasions.
Also on one of times I tried to force quit from the os/x pop up - I got app not responding on 3 of the 4 apps that were open.
I normally quit the launcher, but have also relaunched laucher to try and log in another alt after logging one out.
4 sessions seems to be about the acceptable limit for my hardware. 5 is too slow. I suspect with paging to disk/memory limits being reached.
I have since noticed that counting down seconds have ceased to display on the remaining sessions in the skill queue once one of the sessions has logged out. I have also noticed that the chat windows display alts that have signed out. So it's as if any sort of presentation to service layer connection/event handling to refresh displays are being severed on first session logout across all remaining ones.
I also tried clearing cache to resolve matters which made no difference.
===
Also had issue one time with launcher credentials panel going blank with no input boxes when I clicked switch user account link. Had to quit and restart launcher.
===
I've also had a bizarre issue with close from context menu of a tab group not working for the skill queue on one of my accounts. I have to detach it from the tab group and use the x at top right to close it. It actually closes the preceding tab in the group. So there is an off by one issue! I closed all the tabs in the group and regrouped everything to fix this quirky behaviour.
===
Also the disconnect from cluster at server downtime seems to work fine still and all accounts can be quit without force quitting, although I suspect that is some sort of server-side disconnect, rather than something client side.
===
Could it be... not interacting with chat allows successful logout - i.e. not hosing remaining open sessions?
===
Yup I seem to have the work around. Don't leave a chat channel in focus with cursor in it - so put cursor on station hangar background before quitting. Do that on all sessions before quitting any. Well that may not be it... Still having issues..
===
Well... I had a system freeze. So verified hard drive on reboot. I ended up with:
Incorrect block count for file Eve_Online_734685-739267_mac.patch
(It should be 2600 instead of 345367)
...
Invalid volume free block count
....
Disk needs to be repaired...
I wonder if others have same issue?
==
Well running repair disk totally messed Eve up - so patcher was messed up. I undocked with 3 ships and 2 sessions bombed. Every time Ioaded second session subsequently connection closed on others. Redoing 7.5hr download. Yawn! eve_premium_009797_793961.dmg
===
Still having issues even with new dmg... But haven't cleared down app support folder because of how much of a pain it is to set UI up on 21 alts... Please CCP do something to allow XML import/export for this - a la overview. But not just that, everything... neocom, tab groups/layout, market favourites etc. Would make clearing down and recreating sessions from scratch far simpler as well as starting new accounts.. Would sure make Power of 2 more attractive!
Other thoughts... As well as not being in focus of any input capable box like notes/chat, making sure skill queue is closed on sessions.
Also is there a chance of switching to another alt to login too fast cause for potential issues.. Maybe something not getting chance to initialise? Just thoughts as to why I can sometimes have no issues..
===
Also having issues when undocking 3 accounts at once in Jita. All Eve sessions crash. Logging back in warps from 1AU from station back to it. Then later on session change when I'd logged the 3 back in one account crashed too when session changing from Jita to Perimeter.
===
Also tried copying application support folder then deleting it. - and recreating it from app and starting to setup UI across accounts..
Still getting this darned lock ups on logout of an account. Needs fixing. Ruled out can't be related to install now...
===
Also had authentication hanging all day issues on 14th Jun 2014. Before I used to resort to clone maker to get past this.
Tried re-installing Mavericks too - and it took me until 5pm to even be able to get 2 alts logged in. CCP this is ruining Eve for me. Please extend my 7 accounts for all the days of gameplay I'm missing! And feel free to have a GM or CCP Dev contact me in game. Happy to assist you/your partners test and debug this if possible.

I am also running into problems with >1 client running. If I sign in via launcher with one account then switch users and launch a second client, quitting from one locks up the other and I have to use Force Quit then log back in to restore functionality.

With the same graphics settings as pre-Kronos, with Kronos I was getting a temporary freeze, 1-3 secs, every time I jumped in system or undocked.

Pulled things back from pretty much being maxed out and the issue seemed to stop.

Also weird bug in Cloud Havens with vertical black bars.

Otherwise everything else seems good.
