I'm not sure how type designers work but I'm pretty sure that if you don't read Russian it can be hard to realize what exactly is wrong with the Cyrillic letters. If you can make a bug report with some screenshots where you point out what it is you think is wrong with it, it's more likely to get fixed.

I'm also sorry to hear that you're having troubles with this expansion, I hope it will get better for you when some of the defects have been fixed.

My Issues are as follows (w/ eve not personal):


  • Cargo Bay
  • - Unloading cargo from Cargo Bay into Items Bay by dragging causes the Cargo Bay it self to drag along with the item
    (Reproduced it multiple times, on my client and friends)
    - Inventory/Capacity failed to update when new items where brought into the cargo bay. Had to press sort items to cause it to refresh. (Happened twice, don't know why)

  • When in map mode (F10)
  • - After docking up the ship controls are still visible in hanger (verified on multiple clients)
    - If Map Mode was entered in hanger, target icons will not show up on top of the Map mode black background

  • Ship Controls
  • - Sometime fail to update, as in being in warp and the speed indicator shows 0.0 m/s idle.

The rest where mentioned: ie pinning windows, identification not showing up until undocking, windows dont always keep their location, etc etc


Also when should we expect a patch for all this wonderfulness?

I've created a bug with the correct render (of Arial) and how it looks in the client. The problem isn't in (not) understanding, the problem is letters have wrong proportions and some of them have slightly wrong typefaces. I hope it should be visible for the type designer how it should look from the provided screenshot.

Situation:

PI colony with multiple launchpads.

1. Open up first launchpad customs-office interface.
2. Export 500 units of something to the orbiting CO.
- You'll see 500 units of product on the left side now.
3. Switch to 2nd launchpad.
4. Export 500 units of the same thing to the orbiting CO.
- You'll see two lines, one with 500 units (a ghost) and one with 1000 units (the auto-stacked).
5. Attempt to drag the ghost line with 500 units to your cargo and you get an error.

You can repeat steps 3 & 4 for 3+ LP setups and you'll see multiple rows with 500 units, which cannot be dragged or interacted with.

The worst part is that the client thinks the "Ghost Units" actually have volume and eventually you wll be unable to transfer anything to the Customs Office because it thinks it's full. The workaround is you can transfer the "Ghost units" back down to the launch pad without being taxed and they will disappear,assuming you have room.

I will be playing the game for 10 to 15 mins. The game will crash and my pc will freeze up for i cant do nouthing how do i fix it or what do i do?And i cant run my miner and hauler both it does the same thing How do i fix it????????This is on both my pc.My labtop and desktop....SadSadSadSadSad

The new font may seem "amazing" or "great" at times, but in all honesty, whoever designed it hadn't been around in the 80's or 90's when designed fonts needed crucial guidelines to adhere to:

"TRACKING" (the space between fonts) is obviously at "0"... but when you look at the printing/font that we are all reading right now... even the information to the left ... underneath my name, for example, has even "tracking".

What does that mean, some may ask? Well, I see "School of Applied Knowledge" under my name. What I see is an EQUAL amount of spacing to the "right" and "left" of each letter, making the "l" next to the "i" next to the "e" next to the "d" in "Applied" seem wonderfully next to each other - spaced and even.

What I DO NOT SEE IN THE NEW GAME FONT is the same guidelines and behavior applied:

The letter "e" (for one example) in the game is too "left aligned" which leaves more space before the next letter... this causes some words to seem out of space or separated unevenly, and this is causing legibility issues, regardless of what font size you choose or scalability you use.

MOST noticably is the oppositely "congested" numeral "0" (zero). It is pushed to the maximum left/right edges but then, when a symbol like a "," (comma) or "." (period) or a ":" (colon) are immediately after the number "zero", it is "wedged" right next to the "right end horizontal line" of the zero character. This makes reading symbology difficult.

An example would be TIME: 08:04 in the lower lefthand menu column is barely noticable. This is not only because the ":" (colon) is immediately set up to display right after the previous "character/number" but also creates problems in reading AND SPACING.

This is most noticable when seeing the "thin" (unboldened) print of the font (something we users cannot replicate) - yet we see it in TIME, DATE, TAB TITLES, MARKET PRICING... The symbols are far more "thin"... and when you use them in an unbolded way, TIME (for example) loses any sense of a visable ":" (colon). So the time may be 10:42 or 01:16 but when you look at those TWO examples alone, you'll see uneven spacing near the "colon"... and to make things worse, the colon is much thinner, and therefore not visible.

This adds to NON-CONTINUITY amongst all letters and numbers. Anyone who has designed a font professionally knows that there needs to be an exacting amount of space on both "left" and "right" sides of EACH letter, number, and symbol. This creates universal tracking...

This "new font" is LACKING that universality.

If you doubt it, take a look at the lowercase "e" in any situation: especially the market, but even in typing mail. The "e" (lowercase) is "left-side heavy" and therefor places 1 pixel (or so) too much extra space on its other (RIGHT) side before the next letter/symbol/number. This is more visible when you select an item and have it "emboldened"... like the price of something when purchasing/selling an item. Also see in the market listing... especially when "zero" is involved. Right now any of us reading THIS text/forum IN A BROWSER, will see the evenly spaced lettering made by the pre-existing (and functionally made) font. I see it in the predefined typeface we all see "beautifully" under our portraits ( definied in the source code as style=display: inline; float: right; font-weight: bold; text-align: right ) and even the undefined font my browser is using to type this text - which is very different. What they all have in common is even spacing on each side of each letter. Especially the "e" which seems to be one of the few (but several) problematic characters in this "new eve font"...

If I typed "New Eve Font" in the game, we'd see a slight bit more spacing to the RIGHT of each instance of the letter "e"... and this breaks up the words formed by the letters.

This has been, as a font designer/editor in my personal RL careers for 20 years, something that I'm wrestling with as I am "trying to LIKE the new font" but I simply can't.

What makes it worse is that we have the only option of seeing the "normal" (slightly boldened) version/thickness of the font in all things... EXCEPT when the UI uses a special THIN (or as some may have come to know as "NARROW" version of the font)... this NARROW verions means almost a 1 pixel line version of the font that us user can NEVER user: "possibly anti-aliased", but nonetheless, a problematically visual situation in: the CLOCK TIME, DATE, MARKET VALUES, LISTINGS of the "very much BROKEN" CORP BLUEPRINTS section of the Science and Industry tabs, as well as labels for all tabs of most windows, including the tabs for chat windows, hangars, etc.)

This is hurting the eyes for several people. Myself included.

The solution, after reading the Feedback AND the Issues pages seems to be almost 50/50 for all people... at least as in "all people who have chosen to bother voicing their feedback and issues" here.

This is one of a myriad of problems, but it is something we all want boiled down to:

OUR CHOICE.

Half of us love the new font. Great. I'm very happy for you people who love it.

Half of us dislike it, hate it, or "can't put our finger on it, but we don't like 'it'." Well, there in itself lies a problem:

Just like the CQ (which is a bug report of hell I've been working on filing because I seem to be a walking "head and half torso" defying laws of physics) and even in the Hangar (also with a windows problem that makes the whole thing "float around" instead of just the ship) creates situations where you have users who WANT A CHOICE.

If anything is supposed to be "great" about any EVE upgrade, it should be to give its paying users who wish to continue playing the game: A CHOICE.

It may be personal for some, it may be visual/medical for others. The reason shouldn't be the issue. The issue is in the flaw of the font's CURRENT design. The solution is to fix it and/or give us a choice.

Most annoying Issues:

- Ships change flying direction on random when I changeing camera position in space. That's very dangerous in combat FIX IT
ASAP pls. It looks like client reconises single Left- click or L-click and hold as a double click which is allign to.
- Windows cannot be pinned - annoying.
- Windows opens in random place not where when i closed them - very annoying.
- Items stacking issues: Items won't stack at random.
- Probing singatures dissapear during scanning but they are still there when you increase scanning radius. I have large
experience in probing both ships and signs so it's not possible im doing it wrong.
- Problems with loading - unloading PCO's with PI materials at random.
- Orca, Hulk, Tempest doesn't have engine trails.
- Mining drones beams are frozen during first cycle of mining.

Tier 3 Tornado and T3 BCs review.

They are too weak !! Give them 60 CPU more.
Tornado as you said should be Drake killer (!!!). It won't happend until Drake pilot is AFK. Tornado has only 100-120 DPS more than Armour Cane and almost equal to ( Tornado has a bit more ) to shield Cane. Shield Cane is better than Tornado.

The video cards on my laptop stopped misbehaving each time i jumped a gate or unlocked hurray , i usually had got the following message " the video card driver stopped responding windows in currently trying to reset the driver" or something like that Big smile

The UI goes crazy once i alt- tab , some windows despair and reappear randomly , pretty disturbing .Sad

Fitting any module on a ship in POSes is a nightmare. It takes forever no matter where the module you are fitting to your ship is located (cargo bay, corp hangar array).

Currently, you will spend less time to:
- launch scanner probes
- find a wormhole leading to known space
- go to known space with unfitted ship and modules in cargo hold
- dock in the first station
- fit all modules
- return to your W-Space system

then to simply fit all modules on your POS.

Clearing cache doesn't help.

W-Space residents are heavily affected.

Why is it that when I enter a station, having previously entered the Hanger Bay, I wind up standing in the CQ Cryand when I try to go to the Hanger Bay Big smile Eve crashesTwisted? The screen becomes white and asks if I want to report the problem. Then I have to reconnect all over again. It seems to be a pattern that has established itself since Crucible has been deployed. I don't think it is my computer, I do play on an iMac, but this was not occurring in Incarna.

on my broadsword when i have the script in, it says i can warp scramble up to 36km away but i get the message:

"20:43:03 Notify Houk is too far away to use your Focused Warp Disruption on, it needs to be closer than 30,000 meters."

edit: thats the new tech 2 warp disruption generator and i got heavy interdictor 5

  • When docking / undocking, my chat and cargo window is jumping up and down. It's somewhat annoying.

  • When sorting trough my Survey Scan Result and sorting by quantity, entries with 4 numbers (0 - 9K) are sorted separately from entries with 5 or more numbers (10K+)

  • Sorting trough wallet divisions gave the same error as above. But somehow it worked right now.


Also, I have had some hangups and crashes, thought I do not know their origin.

I use a Windows 7, 64 bit.
