When I used to do missions, some mission deadspace had asteroids with facilities in it. Now that the rorq is less useful with the exception of boost, I would like to see mining facilities be impleted into the game somehow. Here are a few suggestion to it, feel free to add ideas or comment why it would be good or bad.

Manufacturing drones:
- Usable by rorqual only
- Does the actual construction of facilities at an asteroid belt
- Travels/Hauls between facility to be constructed and storage/rorqual while constructing facility

Rorqual changes:
- remove current boosting bonuses from rorqual role (no longer a boosting ship)
- can use manufacturing drones.
- can process ores into construction materials to be used by manufacturing drones (no core required)
- must be at belt to actually construct mining facilities
- processing of ores into construction materials takes a small amount of time and if rorq enters warp, the materials is lost

Facilities:

Construction Material Storage - Storage of construction materials to be used for construction

power generator - provides CPU/Powergrid to facilities at the belt

Acceleration gate - speeds up the acceleration of large ships (including capitals) to warp speed (helps large ships to get out before enemies arrive)

Laser focusing crystal - Extend range of lasers for mining ship, but reduces yield. Cannot be placed close to another laser focusing crystal, is upgradable.

Ore filtration systems - Increase yield of mining ship. Cannot be placed closed to another ore filtration systems. is upgradable.

Ore silo - Stores X amount of m3 of ore. Can be upgraded to hold more storage. Has built in tractor beam to grab any ores into silo like a MTU

Other possible facilities:

Sentry towers - For defenses

Large Gravitational Launcher - Hurls cargos to POS which takes a short amount of time before it reaches POS. Can be scanned by combat probes and intercepted. Launches cargo every 5 mins regardless of cargo size

Dscan inhibitor - Disable dscanning of anything in belt (except the dscan inhibitor), similar to the mobile unit

Drone hangar - Houses drones which will launch drones and attack enemies. Drones becomes adandoned if Drone hangar is destroyed

Pros:

Increases efficiency of mining in belt

Can provide some additional defenses for miners without requiring PvPers (See sentry towers)

Facilities is salvageable (recover a % of ores/minerals used during the construction of facilities)

Can improve logistics between belt and POS (not outpost/stations)

Can remove the need for specific hauling ships

A fully built facilities can provide enough defenses to make PvPers think twice

Cons:

Rorqual must be at belt to construct facilities (at risk during construction)

PvPers have more stuff to blow up (if they come into the system, they can destroy the facilities)

Facilities uses ores (lowering overall amount of ores mined as it is using part of it for construction of facilities)
