Hello,

Currently skilling up a character for making ISK, originally intended it to run missions but not sure I want to do lvl 4's in battleships.

I have a cov-ops character on another account I have been jumping into WH's and scanning out to quiet Nullsec systems to do data/relic sites. I was considering skilling a Stratios+Sentries and bring it along/instead for combat sites/anomalies, I like the look of the ship and I'd find it more fun than normal missions in Highsec. Would also be able to use Ishtar which seems popular.

Question though is whether Stratios can handle and put out the damage needed? I've never really done sites or anomalies much. Been having a read and seems to be differing opinions on what level of sites it can do. Most info I've read suggests DED 4, 5 and 6 are do-able. Anyone with experience doing this kind of thing?

The other concern is whether I'll see much of those DED levels. Is it more likely I'll end up seeing mostly 7's, 8's, 10's? From what I've read I'd need a more powerful ship to do them, can't really bring a BS though and I won't have backup from friends.

when it comes to taking and dealing out dps, the ishtar is much better with its better drone dps, better drone application, and kin/therm resistances. I think the stratios is better tuned for lowsec sites, which deal a bit less dps and are less battleship-heavy.

Or, you know, never do that. There isn't a site anywhere where you'd want to pass on selectable damage just to do a bit more rainbow damage.

Heavies outdps sentries too, but do you really want to deploy drones that cost 20mil each but can be webbed and lost?

Hm, makes sense. I guess I could find my way to null space with the Amarr based rats and use lasers on the Stratios, the range bonus would come in handy I imagine and I would have good base resistances against them. Plus I could have a cloak incase the neighbours find me :)

The Geckos are a nice idea but I've heard rats like to shoot them, the sentries would allow me to hold range and snipe easier.
