Maybe if we all just post over and over again 'Needs more Jukebox' they'll get the message. We've had thread after thread demanding it back, and while none are thousand page threadnoughts, we want to know when this feature will be returned to us.

Achem:

Needs more Jukebox.

Is the MWD racecar spool-up sound ever coming back? Even if it was annoyingly loud in its first implementation I liked it :)

yes.

Sweet <3 it was awesome!

This level of customisation is wonderful and unprecedented in EVE and will be widely regarded as a bad move by your Devmates, since the audience will demand the same from them in the future :)

Also, this is in the wrong forum section, should be in F&I.

... and grrrr goons

but TBH this sort of generic game environment change is probably more suited to GD

despite of a total list of the individual volume setting, would it be better separate into groups? or an on/off option for a group?

for example :
environmental (wormhole, map, PI etc.)
ship related (turret, jump gate, booster, modules, impact, etc)
UI (UI, radial)
Alert (locking, crimewatch, ambulance, etc.)

We can still click the individual boxes to switch on/off, and more options to turn a group of them on/off with one click

it gives us a quick way to turn them off, instead of browse through the list and click those boxes one by one

if the space in the option menu is not allowed, it would be better the arrange the order in the list according to their related area

Moving the old (https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=4559910) thread to this one. :)

So fire away. :
Videos of the new audio customization features for Kronos:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z5-BBsP_b1w
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sgwB3cinXmU

anything goes here, but lets keep this thread just as polite as the old one.

I like it, but I think it needs a bit more category segregation and tooltips.

category segregation for:
passive ambience (music, wormhole sound based on lifetime, etc.)
active ambience (wormhole transits, gate jumps, smartbombs nearby, cynos being lit)
sounds your ship makes (prop mods, weapon effects, drone launching)
and effect sounds (you getting hit with incoming damage, explosions, damps, etc.)

The above, plus tooltips explaining what each category means, would be awesome.

(maybe you already have this, the videos were a bit hard to see)

It's already there. most of what you say.
I don't have more space in the menu, than you see, so I have a hard time grouping some of these.

Frankly I still haven't seen an answer to what's so wrong with the jukebox that it has to be perma-banned from the game ?

Mebbee time to plug the sound back in.

that's what it's there for.
I don't know if you have seen the other thread, but it doesn't matter.

I spent a lot of time listening to players, to other devs, brainstorming on my own and coding prototypes, to figure out how I could do this the best way.

not just turning down certain sounds, but how this could become a "good thing" instead of just a hacked solution that will equally just make all of you turn down everything.
The system is a combination of two things - sounds that you think are too loud or you don't care about, turn them down.
but also, sounds that you do want, but they mess up everything because you run multiple clients, it's fixed now.

I know the jukebox ain't there, ain't coming back either, but with this, you can multibox and still have music on.
I play myself, with a lot of clients, and I noticed that I often had the same sound from multiple clients at the same time - sometimes just annoying to listen to, sometimes even messing up what kind of warning or information I wanted.

A lot of players told me they were annoyed with the crimewatch timers, ok, that's dealt with.
but not just by turning it down, you can also just choose to have it only on, if you client is in focus.

There are several things I want into the game, things to help eve back on the audio track of being a game where audio isn't just an obstacle you stumble upon. I grew tired of listening to that same meme over and over again, yet it's kind of funny and I get where it's coming from, I found it fairly obvious that something had to be dealt with rather than just adding sounds to new UI, Game etc. features.

Cheers. :)

If it wouldn't have been weird I would've hugged you at FF for this and for being the most transparent CCP dev I've had interactions with. You say as it is and you have vision, it's to be admired and commended.

Keep up the *Snip* Please refrain from using profanity. ISD Ezwal.awesome job and maybe I'll shoot you in the face on my next FF as killing is just a means of communication after all Lol

i had a warning in mind, like we have for low capacitor for example, not something you only hear when you are zoomed in at your ship.

Yea, I don't know if I can get the difference between you or other decloaking you, that might be server thing.

maybe just play the sound romulan warbirds make whenever they engage and disengage their cloak. i LOVE this sound.

Can we have the old ambient music back, and the jukebox or a method to have custom music so we can import the old music?

Can we possibly have the ship specific sounds volumes please ? I really like them and currently they are missing or just really muted down.
Edit: Just noticed they are already in there (ship ambience) cool.

Can we also have the undocking sounds volume option if possible, it would cool to set them louder as well. :)

Well since the jukebox is gone (is it?) you don't really have the means to deploy it properly...

What I'm saying is, yes, I want the jukebox, if it comes with those Permaband songs that would be nice. If they somehow don't make it into the jukebox that would be sad but I think I could manage.

Jukebox.

You know everyone wants the Jukebox. You want it too. You just said you'd like to have that song in the game. Best way to do it is the Jukebox.

I hope people haven't tried keyword repetition to engrave that thought into you guys' brains or this is going to look a bit stupid.

[Shameless self-promotion ahead]

I've been fortunate enough to talk at length to CCP WhiteNoiseTrash about enhancing the EVE audio experience following my blog on the subject: http://www.machine9.net/?p=1019

I'm happy to confirm there is a strong desire within CCP to build up a much more robust system for audio (the wonderful new configuration sliders are step 1) which will hopefully allow for a more complete experience and add value to actually hearing things.

Maybe you guys can give my early brainstorm draft in the blogpost a read through and add your suggestions for what sort of things you'd want to have audio warnings for to this thread?

I'll monitor the thread and add your suggestions to my notes for my next skype session with WhiteNoiseTrash :)
