Some EVE players can not separate themselves from the game.

It's a terrible outcome either way. As a large gaming community, not everyone in it is going to be an upstanding, ethical and honorable person irl. For the most part, we don't have any knowledge of other players outside the game, so have no reason to suspect anything in relation to anyone. Not as simple here though.

I don't recall anything about him ever hurting anyone, merely that he espoused certain opinions that were rather distasteful. But my recollection is vague.
In any case, there's still no excuse. Even if the anger was justified, the act was not.

There is a lot of jumping to conclusions in this thread thst the person responsible for the act is an ********, jerk, whatever.

Im just of the view, that here, it isnt as simple and there may be understandable reasons why someone would deface that name. It's not acceptable and isn't an acceptable outcome, but mitigating factors may exist that means we should all hold off on making judgements about the person, even though we can all condemn the act of defacing CCPs property.

What I can confirm is that the monument has indeed been vandalized, and we're looking into what action we can take, once we confirm who is responsible.

Ah ok well that is good to hear it can be replaced. Although money spent on replacing this monument is taken from the our subs and the development of eve, so not impressed at all at the low life who has done this. Especially despicable considering they were a guest in someone else's country.

I have to say the level of "hanging someone out to dry without any evidence" displayed in this thread is ASTOUNDING. I know Gevlon is a douche but he does seem to enjoy playing EVE, I doubt even he is delusional enough to do something like this and then broadcast to the world that it was him that did it. Wait till Falcon gets back to us tomorrow to let us know what happened and then feel free to crucify whoever ACTUALLY did this.

I petitioned Salvos and mentioned DE.

I also reported Salvos a lot with analyzing his posts and personality.
