It would not be too complicated to add a button at the end of every drop down menu that creates a hotkey for that particular command. These can be locally saved so they will not have any impact on the server at all. I happen to know a bit about coding and assigning a button to a specific set of buttons is a VERY simple operation.

These will have two different types specific and general. A specific one will do exactly what the command says every time and pretty much can only be done to commands relative to your ship or to predetermined things. A general one will still have you hold it and click on your intended target.

This feature will be available to anything in a drop down menu simply right click on the final action you want to do and hit assign hotkey. This will bring up a window that lets you set the type and the key.

What I have in mind for these things:

specific:
launch particular drone group
warp to predetermined safe spot
jump to predetermined cyno beacon
jump to only available or random cyno generator
refit a particular module at mobile depot (this will need two buttons, one to unfit that exact module slot and one to fit the module in question, also it will probably be linked to that exact module and not a type of module as that is the way that particular bit of data is store on the server)

general:
orbit at various ranges
keep at various ranges
warp at various ranges
warp squad/fleet
set destination

you miss the point that EVERY drop down menu will have the exact same function to assign a button. By the sound of the things you like and don't like you hotdrop people and want the controls of escaping to be slower. The fact is the speed of controls is NOT a part of game mechanics and every step to eliminate them should be taken.

Yes I like to hotdrop people(who doesn't?), but I like ganking ice miners even more. I understand its "assignable" but in nullsec all you have to do is assign it to a beacon and the second you get spooked enough you can one click jump to relative safety. If you want to rat in your carrier thats your stupidity, but I'm not onboard with making it any safer for you.

and I agreed with over half of your list, just not the junk you REALLY wanted.

I'd support a "jump to" under the pilot option of a fleet member. Better yet, keep the capital navigation window open so you can Right click -> jump to. THERE! problem solved.

What you tell me to do is also one click solutions. What I suggest is let a user put those same once click solutions where they want to instead of burying them under a pile of menus. Adding this will make the game work closer to the way intended.

.....I'm pretty sure it's already working as they intended. What you suggest actually adds one more useless, menu item you would have to sort through. Whether through the capital navigation menu or right clicking ones capacitor to-> jump to what you ask currently exists. Just not where you want it.

and working as intended means the game is governed only by game mechanics not in a persons ability to find them

Really the concept of basically "bookmarking" a location in space, just doesn't sit well with me. If you're going to warp why not to a premade safe spot? From there you bounce to a POS or a station. Maybe to multiple safe spots while you wait out a timer.

most of what you are trying to do exists in the game, but from what I interpret from your posts is these functions are just simply not located where you want them. For me that doesn't necessitate diverting time and resources from other works in progress.

I'm all for user definable shortcuts and functions but the game wasn't designed for this on the scale you or I would prefer. That said I would never support what at its core ends up being nothing more than an emergency shortcut to jump out a capital.
