Is something like this, that actually looks badass, too impossible.

I mean, ya a blue glow is an improvement (I guess).

But when leaving grid you get up to full speed then drop to 0m/s then gracefully glide away waving your hand. You are somehow impossible for ships to lock on to when your speed drops to 0m/s. and all that.
If you charge the warp drive and leave shouldnt you actually LEAVE the field???

defiantly looks cool but how would it work with ships that enter warp much slower?

Entering Warp speed as such the Effect he shows here would be identical... Maybe show a slower warp trail? But at any rate IIRC, top Warp speeds are achieved after the initial warp off.

I like this effect though +1

Whomever said, "You only get one shot to make a good impression," was utterly wrong. I've made plenty of great impressions with my Autocannons 

As soon as you enter warp you enter at warp speed and come out of warp the same way.
So a frig would enter warp and burst off at 6 AU/s
A carrier would burst off and enter warp at 1.5 AU/s

They would come out of warp the same way.

The idea behind the warp drive was that space was moving around the ship, the ship itself isnt moving.
You could balance the time in warp now but adjusting warp speeds like they did to account for the loss in warp time from the gradual build up to warp speed.

Hopefully CCP hasn't yet set the new warp effect in stone. The OP's linked video would be a preferable update in my opinion.

I am already waiting for the crying Horde of Shipsickness And Nausea. Cool

I love these additions to the eye candy. Shocked

My ridicule, heavy criticism and general pale outlook about your or CCP's ideas is nothing but an encouragement to prove me wrong. Give it a try.

See....THIS is the kind of content we should be getting....not tweaking numbers here and there! CCP....GIVE US THIS EFFECT!!!
The idea of warp is as soon as you enter it, you are gone in a flash not trailing off in a slow mo distance like current warp drive is. I agree though I can only imagine the hordes of people complaining about nausea, "QQ my ship's warp flash makes me throw up."

They are making changes to the warp affect anyway, why not make it something cool instead of a blue low poly fart in space when it exits.

That looks awesome, not only adding to the realism of the universe itself, but just looking damn attractive.

Pfft, I'd love this. Signed.

I think each class of ship should have its own warp affect.

Wouldn't matter. Once a ship crosses the event horizon of FTL the effect would be the same.
