Production / Trade / Social Skill "Market Feedback"

Add a trainable skill based on other trade / social pre-requisites that allows a player to be notified when a ship they have manufactured and sold has been destroyed.

Leveraging the notion that each ship has a unique ID, it'd be nice to get an alert when a ship made by a player is destroyed so a player with this advanced skill has a chance to do market / production planning based on "business intelligence" feedback.

Again, based on other skills the logic might be that a manufacturer receives feedback from a variety of sources (other trained skills) whenever an asset is lost, perhaps with or without additional detail about pilot or location or kill mail details.

There has already been discussions (I can't find the threads of course) about allowing pilots and / or manufacturers to keep a trace of where their ships come from / end up.

I like the idea of keeping some sort of link between a manufacturer and the ships he builds. In its simplest form, it could just be an option when you build a ship to "sign" it or not, so the ship owner can see the name of the pilot / corp who built his ship. If you go further than that, as you suggest, and give the manufacturer the option to gather information about who uses and loses the ships he built, it could become a good intelligence tool, and actually give some power to the manufacturers. In an ideal world, it'd be funny to be able to gather intel on what your enemies are planning by finding out who are supplying them and paying the manufacturers in exchange of that information.

Regarding your suggestion, I wouldn't go with notifications. This could become a nightmare for the manufacturer :). But the idea overall is interesting in my opinion, if it's implemented carefully and properly. It's not new though, so you might want to look for similar older threads.
