Gankers are an isk control for empire bears. They make bears lose isk from to time. They keep empire isk under some control. A Bear makes 3 billion in one month but gets ganked in thier 1.5 bil isk maker....they only net 1.5 billion. Although harsh, this is economic balance of sorts.

You see, other regions like 0.0/WH/Low Sec have isk control via less restricted pvp. take me for example. I lived in delve at some point. One day I killed me an officer spawn. Stuff to jita, +1.x billion to my wallet for about 5 minutes of work. yay me...I was rich as this was before the economy got so inflated and 1 billion isk was some damn good isk.

And 2 weeks later my alliance went on a road trip. And in the meat grinder ops to secure our beachhead and push in for more space I lost several hundred millions in isk in pvp losses. So out of 1 bil gross from o-gear I sold I netted maybe 200-300 mil. This would be isk control.

Let me make an alt corp and have a 2 way war with it so I can dodge the mechanic you just put in at the cost of whatever the number of coding/testing would be required by devs and laugh at you as your mechanics changed nothing except making again some poor newbie suffer from it because he didn't know better about yet another possibility of getting a suspect flag not really being shown to him before he came on the forum to ask why he was killed at a gate.

Wars cost money. To upkeep them you will have to cut into your profits. But yeah, I admit it is a little weak. I haven't come up with a better solution to the real wardecs, which shouldn't be subject to getting flagged into this train robber/cops&robbers system. Given the current PLEX prices being an indication of what people have in their wallets though, I think wars are a little cheap to declare.

Wars that are declared "mutual" by both sides don't cost a cent outside of the initial declaration.

Not every gate camp in high sec is a suicide gank squad. Sometimes they are at war with a corp and are trying to limit movement or traffic from that specific group. Kills are not always the only goal in the wardec.

  - remove the cloaked from local; free intel is the real problem, not  "afk" cloaking -

Hi,

I have had this idea, to improve or at least give a more dynamic layer for gate camps in high sec. The players that are camping high sec, are protected by Concord, as well as the players travelling through high sec. However, it stands to a reasonable intelligence level that if you camp a stargate with a pack of friends, that any individual might think that you are up to no good. So why don't these groups incur a suspect flag? We risk our ships going through their camps, but they don't risk anyone else attacking them because they will in turn, have Concord fly to the rescue. (Sometimes I think Concord hurts more than it helps.)

By at least having players who intend to suicide gank a transport, do so while having a suspect flag, makes them take some risk as well and would create dynamic pvp in that it would create a counter roam group, hunting for yellow players around a stargate. You could have some pretty fun group versus group fights, instead of the boring wait, upon which you suicide your ship.

What do you guys think?

I was thinking, the timer should come into effect upon which your activities are suspect by hanging around a stargate too long at 7 minutes. Five would be too short and ten would be too long for the dynamic purposes here.

dumb idea, what bout ppl camping a gate because they are waiting / camping wartargets?

tldr: l2p before proposing dumb idea, thx

Yet another crap idea in this forum, by yet another idiot who doesn't know how to play ~the eve~.

If you don't like gate camps, then there is a simple fix for you. Grab a couple of your buddies and go break it up. The original idea of EVE (that CCP and the rest of you idiots seem to have forgotten) is that the best thing it provides is emergent game play. (Yeah, when's the last time you heard that being banded about in a keynote?)

You cannot simply change the rules of the world because you do not like them, and certainly not when there are many different ways in which you can already overcome gate camping. As such, limiting something that people have been doing for 11 years because it's unfair to you is stupid.

Back in the day, EVE was hard... AND IT WAS AWESOME. We had no warp to zero, the closest you could get was 15KM (yeah yeah, bookmarks...) and gate camps were a bigger problem then, and you had to actually fight your way out of it if you got caught. Any smart person wouldn't get caught anyways because you'd use a scout to see if it was safe and if it wasn't, you'd wait it out. EVE is a game that rewards patience, or at least, was. Sadly these days CCP is far too accepting to give all you ADHD mongoloids instant gratification and is usually born out of terrible threads like this.

the thing is it's cheaper to alpha an alpha nado than it is to alpha whatever it is they're after killing a few thrashers might be able to clear a whole gate camp of them so what's the problem
