Is PLEX for character rename still being discussed

But I can dig the idea only if previous name(s) get bracketed and listed in the character data visible for everyone in infoboxes. All posts and mails screencapped and time stamped, including out of EVE, you will not reverse on me. Might come in handy!

Yes it is doable and also exploitable.

The lore a pilot creates should stay with that pilot and that person should have to deal with the consequences of what they built even if they are trying to sell that pilot and no one wants it because of its crappy reputation.

You know: you can make NEW ALT Shocked

(and let me add that you can biomass alt when it is no more needed)

I may be wrong but I don’t imagine people creating alts to do bad things and then sell the alt? I could see where constant name changes would make you harder to track and kill.

Most people looking to do harm or create a spy will do so on a totally separate account not as an alt.

no... it really was never being discussed by anyone but a few players who decided they wanted to rename their characters. It's a bad idea - it will always be a bad idea no matter how many ways the idea gets tweaked. If you want a good name choose one when you create your character.. if you failed the first time either create a new character with the name you like or buy one from the bazaar. Bad decisions have consequences in EVE.

The big problem with names still comes down to avoiding consequences, and making it a pain to know who is ******* who.

Lets assume you DO have a name history, well you were Billy-Bob from time-A to time-B, someone else was Billy-Bob from Time-c to Time-D, another person was billy-bob from E-F, everyone switchign names.

so how do you keep track of who was who when something happens that becomes relevant years later when the *exact* date is difficult?

On that note, why should anyone have to go through the trouble of looking up an entire history of names and who was named who when, when all they are trying to do is find a specific person they used to know, or any number of reasons you would have for looking for someone and only having one name.

It would be HELL.

By default everyone only has a name, but when someone pays for an alias it's put in their name first and their original never changing name will be put to the right in parenthesis. Like the normal name would be "IDGAD" and with an alias purchased it would likely be " Convicted pod rapist (IDGAD)"
