Hijacking ships, small ships, fast and agile. Have mariens in ur cargohold and Lock onto a ship approach, attach and try drilling a hole thru the armor and hull and send in marines to take over the ship. If succsessful, u get the ship. (might need the skills to fly the ship ure hijacking :D)

completely bypassing shields and armour? This is pretty much the same as the requests to allow DUST boarding actions I think...all the usual reasons against it would apply...better to keep combat purely ship to ship I think...

may be better, but let the players have the abilities to do it.

Shields, when looking at it from a Scientific point of view, Shields are based upon the idea of a forcefield rejecting or deflecting a fast moving Object or energy to penetrate. Ship wont have enough momentum or speed to be affected by Shields. Armour is just a physical barrier, as a steelplate, ergo penetrable.

If this will be NPC ships - then probably you could say : yes.
Still who will manage this amount of faction ships that will show up on market after those changes?

Will this make industry dead - it is better to fly Faction than a T1 hull.
T1 hull you have to board, Faction one - you can board ....

well it sound like fun in the start.. but if this was getting in to the game i think it shall only be for PVE.

and maybe add that you need to shoot the shield and maybe armor aswell so you have to fight to get it ..
just to ensure that you can just hijack a BS with a frigate in 2 min or so, and as you sayd the skills to fly it..

the down side to fighting the ship first is that you can be shot before you can hijack it and the ship will need repair after you are done.. and some pvp players might shoot you on the way to the station

and there can be added that there will be a change that the NPC pirate will have time to destroy some or all moduel's on the ship so you only get the ship and some scrap metal and maybe small amount of ammo

edit: CONCORD ship's shall not be hijackeable

My point was that this would allow a ship to be hijacked too easily with nothing the pilot can do about it. Currently you would need to have several dessies suicide gank a freighter with planning, timing, etc etc. With this you would just need one ship with some marines and the module. An interceptor with 1 load of marines and the grappling mod would be able to take over a much larger vessel with minimal risk. It would simply unbalance combat in my opinion.

Also if unknown bodies board my ship I expect the shipboard defence mechanisms to simply purge the area to vacuum and deploy nanites to dissolve any foreign matter and use it to repair the hull. These ships are huge and oversimplified for the ease of gameplay. Landing marines onto the ship would be inordinately difficult. Any combat ship would have a multitude of defence weapons against such actions if they were possible. They just aren't modeled into the game as there is no point, they are never used.
