These rescues and one small arms confiscation have been my activity since moving into the Niarja corridor patrol area. Its been quite a while since I have been back to this area. The Kaaputenen Center has really grown with the ongoing rescue in the Niarja Corridor. It is good to see the Matriculants thriving here and living productive lives. To be in the work of helping people get a second chance at life is satisfying. I will be speaking to the crew of the Confiscat to see how they feel about doing some intentional confiscation patrol in some of the busier crossings in the region in particular on the Caldari side where armed confrontations are common.

These rescue represent the last rescue in Niarja and the first rescue once I relocated to Yulai. The ten rescued yesterday are now located at the Tourier Center. This is a very nice station and Proteque is perhaps one of the most attentive to the needs of station residents. This is a good place to live and work either as a transition point or permanently for any Matriculants that we rescue in the area.

The other reason I am here is to manage the increase in our Kamerias Reception work. This is not an area of direct intention as most of those who come under our jurisdiction have come to us via contract from a pilot outside our organization. This pilot will remained unnamed, but I do have permission to speak of some of his activity. He has been running through level three distribution missions but never completes any deliveries of Kamerias. Some at least have been turned over to us. While we are seeking other avenues for this community, the process has been slow. In the mean time, we have located a fit Amarr station for their housing needs. I currently have the task of accepting 4 separate contracts and transporting these groups to the community established. We have no idea how often this will occur or the numbers involved in the future.

116.03.20 210 Kameiras from Pashanai Ministry of War
116.03.20 630 Kameiras from Khafis, Kador Family Bureau
116.03.20 210 Kameiras and 900 Marines from Lisudeh Theology Council
116.03.20 210 Kameiras from Hasiari Ammatar Consulate
116.03.21 19:42 760 cubic meters of Biomass incinerated in Badivefi

Above is numerated the contracts mentioned yesterday. All were transported safely. The last entry refers to something that happened several months ago. We had received a donation of biomass for our nutrition program from a questionable source. We left the shipment in Badivefi and sent samples to our labs for verification purposes. It was determined that the biomass was from unacceptable sources and not suitable for nutritional production. It has been disposed of through incineration. We only report it because at the time we said we would report its final disposition.

2014-03-20 11:59 31 Slaves

Chained, collared, but all still alive and in holding. For now.

Additional Notes:

  • The final 31 Slaves were abandoned by a pilot (name withheld) with the title of "Officer" in a corporation within the Ishuk-Raata Enforcement Directive (I-RED) Alliance. I-RED is to be commended for embracing the holy Amarrian practice of Slavery. That said, when it is necessary to discipline slaves or sacrifice them to God, there exist alternatives to jettisoning them in space and leaving them there. Being novices to Slavery, I-RED should learn this in time.
  • It boggles the mind that seemingly 100% of Kameiras units that come into the possession of the Disciples of Ston and their associates abandon their mission and go AWOL, both rare and serious crimes for any military unit, much less an elite one. That the Disciples of Ston are, in fact, engaging in Slavery with regard to Kameiras seems obvious to me. I suppose the Disciples are to be commended in some way for embracing Slavery, but their bondage practices are in line neither with Amarrian Scriptures nor Apocryphal Scriptures.

A little more than and hour after this rescue, I had an opportunity to have a very short conversation with Nauplius' new accomplice, Rhexenor lo. I began the conversation by saying that I had always heard that the Brutor hold their tribal heritage close to the heart and if that was true for him as well. He responded by indicating that he was a slave pilot. I'm not sure exactly what it means for a capsuleer to describe himself as a slave pilot, but I didn't question that directly. I did ask him if he wanted to be free. He said that he did not. The conversation ended.

Some may consider what I am about to say strange, but there is a point to it. I have always thought that the Brutor are a very handsome and beautiful race both in appearance and in other traits. My Brutor friends are a marvelous addition to my life because of who they are in their uniqueness. It is a sad state that Rhexenor lo seems to do all he can to hide or mute his heritage. It is sadder still that he willingly works for a man who wishes to kill his brethren. There have been many conversations on this forum about the relative merits of diversity even of conflict between cultures and races. I agree that conflict between our diverse cultures is inevitable because of incompatible values that surface from time to time. However, I do not believe that our conflicts need to be violent, bigoted or hateful. If fact, If we embrace the feelings of conflict with others as a positive force to enrich ourselves, we will grow. I feel deep pity for this pilot I met today but I will try hard to hold out some hope for him.

The First Anniversary of the Battle over Caldari Prime was a pleasant and peaceful. I had this ongoing feeling that many of those who attended just want the war to be over and for there to be peace between the Caldari and Gallente. Commander A9 did a superb job in organizing the event. The spirit of peace was palpable with the small exception of a few warmongering comments by the minority. I had not planned to attend but headed over as an after-thought. It was a much needed and welcomed break. I would have stayed until the very end but I felt that I had to return to my assigned patrol. Upon return, I found the two deathcans in the second record above. The overall spirit of the event was one of peace and I feel that the best way to honor the dead is to seek a lasting peace for the generations that will follow them. I hope more events of unity will be held in the future.

This report is a mix of good and bad. The 22nd-23rd was an active patrol period and many lives were rescued. I also lost a ship so I am borrowing the DSS Plowshare until I can outfit another Prowler. I also noted the presence of pilot lo on several occasions blinking suspect. I assume he had captured some poor souls and was delivering them to their doom. There is nothing to do but harden the will and keep going.

Hey, that's how I made my way through college. Poor dancing people.

We've given the (blue) explanation before, but it is good to explain it again now and then. When we come across an abandoned deathcan we record pilot information as usual and our logs keep that record. However, we do not publically report it simply because a blue can rescue is far safer and encourages any passerby to make the rescue. Such was the case with the first rescue listed above.

Should crew members, etc of pirate ships captured in battle be given to Shansha Nation Loyalists in exchange for other prisoners? That is the question as some are phrasing it that is going on in another thread. I hope that the discussion could be carried on in its own thread to broaden the participation.

Over the course of our history, DSTON has transferred one person to TSF at that person's specific request. This has happened only once though it almost happened with a two other aged individuals seeking to live out their remaining years. In the end they chose to stay in the community of their kin. The one was different from prisoner exchanges as there was no exchange or anything we received from TSF. Since then we have had no dealings with the organization.

As a rule, we oppose such deals. Reasons have already been debated without end. Perhaps those gifted in debate will sharpen the issues somewhat more in days ahead.

Development will give the details for public notice when they feel it is appropriate. This retreat would establish any changes to patrol protocol and organization direction for the near future.

To my crew and I, the little yellow diamonds on the scanner scream are like strobe lights when entering a patrol zone. When there are multiples like in this instance, one really perks up. This was the ideal kind of multi-deathcan rescue in that all three were in close proximity to each other and the gate. We were glad to be able to rescue all without incident.
