EVE Voice - Does It Actually Work?

I seem to have all the options selected for it to work, but I don't get any options in fleet or corp to do voice chat... I simply don't get the option in the chat settings menu.

I have read about it being related to upload speed, but I don't think that's the issue:

I'm a bit stumped, as I prefer to natter by voice than type whilst I'm running missions etc.

Can anyone help me, please?

Well I;ve used it off and on for years, if anything check that the right port are open, if all else fails you can try contacting Vivox, the creators of the voice chat library CCP uses to get some in depth connection debugging done.

When I flown with RvB it's all we used...and it worked perfectly.

As for joining fleet EVE-voice, that is NOT done through the channel settings...let me get the picture, be back in a bit

Basically, to join fleet comms on EVE Voice, open the fleet window.

In there you can also set the optional channel to be linked to your corp, and from my experience, once you set that, it will automatically let you join the comms EVE Voice the next time you log in with that client.


Also, keep in mind, that NOT many people will use EVE Voice. Only those that do will hear you.

Most corporations in EVE use out of client comms like TS3, Ventrillo or Mumble. Mainly because it also makes it possible to speak with others when you are not logged in, add extra features to it (private rooms etc).
