If you don't like it... i hear there's a war going on somewhere in null... why don't people just join it and leave the carebears alone/stop carebearing and go shoot things?

That's completely inaccurate and doesn't reflect actual reality in the slightest.

Why do you think this is true?

Where did you see me complain? He asked if high sec had changed, and it did. I just pointed out what had changed. Cant care less really. I live in low sec and only visits high sec once every 3 months or so for the occational gank

i miss can flipping. I also miss can baiting. I miss my baiting osprey and battle hulks and retrievers. I really miss tricking experienced null sec pilots into concordorikan themselves because they forgot about the high sec aggro rules (curse you safety!). Finally, the thing I miss the most - hijacking orcas that have been misused by carebear miners as giant jet cans - why ccp made it so you couldnt access the fleet hanger anymore unless there is a pilot in the orca I dont know or understand.

I don't play, I just fourm warrior.

They feel entitled because they pay a subscription.

Which I find hilarious since all that subscription does is give you access to log in to the server, not to specific content. So the idea that paying your fee makes you entitled to mine in peace or mission is peace is hilarious since you aren't paying to mine and mission, you are paying to log in.

The only thing your subscription guarantees is you can log in to the game. What happens next is unknown.

Things are only impossible until they are not.

Its definitely gotten much worse than it was. This despite people saying otherwise.

I think the issue is destroyers (catalysts) doing 600-700 dps and being extremely cheap and tornado's doing 10k alpha. They're pretty much the go to ships for ganking in high and they're quite imbalanced imo.

Player behavior has gone from relatively decent to Erotica1 type stuff. What would have been frowned upon once is now openly bragged about and defended.

Another aspect is the security status thing. I spent one day sitting on a gate in low in 2004 I think it was and got to -10, then spent the next 3 months in Stain ratting it back up. Now you can get back up very very easily so the incentive not to gank is not there in terms of negative status.

How, in your opinion, are they unbalanced? And what do you classify as extremely cheap?

For once I somewhat agree with you on something, Eroticas bonus room was in bad taste. Whether or not it deserved the ugly mess that followed Ripards blog post is another matter entirely.

You neglect to mention, while it is true that security status is relatively easy to repair, it comes at an ISK cost; and that many gankers don't bother, they're fine with being -10 in highsec, some even flaunt it.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Have to agree, HS was a for more interesting place with can flipping, baiting mission runners, no safety switch etc.

It's not as cheap, fast or easy to achieve that as most people assume. I have a suicide ganking alt I made for lulz who (unlike the vast majority of them, I assure you) actually does that 700 DPS (694, to be precise) that everyone moans about and thinks all the gankers can do. It took a very long time to achieve that. You have to have all the relevant gunnery skills to 5, surgical strike, small blaster specialization, etc. It's not like anyone can make the mythical "week old suicide ganker alt" and do that.

As for cheap, again, to reach those numbers you have to T2 fit your cata and in the end the cost runs about 12-15M. Doesnt sound like a lot, but it's a guaranteed loss every time. If you're doing your ganking solo (meaning there's not someone else there to scoop the wreck) the cost adds up.

As for the 10k alpha tornados, I haven't bothered to actually try mine out, so I don't know if this would have been required, but I do know that, again, it took my girl a long time to train into the T2 large guns, and a Nado you're going to lose each and every time ain't cheap, either.

Yeah, but the flip side to that is you also take a sec status hit for engaging in "legitemate" PVP in lowsec. I don't think it's fair that people who never gank, but are just "honest" PVPers living the PVP life in lowsec should have such a hard time getting around hisec and for that reason alone the tags are a good thing, IMO. It's not cheap, either. I don't gank at all on this character, yet I've had to do the tag thing before because I hate grinding sec status the old fashioned way. It costs about 144M each time to raise your status JUST from -2.0 back to 0, and it falls back to -2 pretty quick if you're actively PVPing in lowsec. If anything, I think that unless the mechanics of losing sec status in lowsec are changed it should be even cheaper and easier to get your sec status back up.

Just my .02 isk

I'm surprised yours is still at 0.0 tbh I'd have thought you'd have ganked something with a newb ship by now Pirate

Improved or declined in what?

I found it always an unsafe place to be in. Way too many people in the same spot and not being able to instantly see they're blue or not, tbh that creeps me out! Shocked
