What was wrong with the old font?

This.

Look at the first two images. Look at them.

The old font was not "perfect" and the new font did not "fix what ain't broke".

I do agree that the angular aesthetic of the old font was nicer, and that something midway between the old font and the new font would have been preferable, but many years of prayers to CCP for a better font have basically been answered.

Old fotn was ****, it ahd to go it was not clear at all, new one could be improved but its vastly superior in any way, shape or form to the old one.

Old font problems were mostly technical. Problems with both fonts really stem from the fact that eve has probably the single worst ui in computing all the way down to the lowest level of code.

If you cannot see massive readability increase with the new font, you need eye surgery.

Probably from spending too much time reading the old font.

De'Veldrin's Corollary (to Malcanis' Law): Any idea that seeks to limit the ability of a large nullsec bloc to do something in the name of allowing more small groups into sov null will inevitably make it that much harder for small groups to enter sov null.

To be honest, I'm surprised people have noticed the font change at all. After reading through the issues and feedback threads, it would seem the biggest problem people are having is failing to to read in the first place.

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.

1 The 8s looked a lot like 9s which made perusing marketorders a b!tch.

2 The old font was hard to read in small sizes in general.

readability, lack thereof - that was the issue with the old font.

Tedium and difficulty are not the same thing, if you don't realize this then STFU about game design.

**** old font. The new might not be sexy but I don't have wonder if that is a B or an 8, 5 or an S, in the system. Which is a huge ******* deal if you leave empire.

Now you just have to worry about if that 8 is actually a 0

Give both options, since im not a market jockey i had zero issues with the old font. Though even when i did buy/sell, i had zero problems.

Id just rather have a decent looking font that i had zero problems with than an ugly font which is a problem by definition.

That's not as bad as the old lookalikes, to my eyes, but it is a problem.
