With the medium intensive array becoming an ore compressor this indirectly nerfs the usefulness of the Rorqual. In order to make it more useful maybe add the capbablity to reprocess ore at the Rorqual as an option? It could be the refinery is 10 or 12% base per level or even 30% base + 5% per level. This would make it the mobile option to setting down a POS for someone who wants to base their industry outside an outpost.

Where did you hear that the medium array is compressing ore?

new dev blog http://community.eveonline.com/news/dev-blogs/reprocess-all-the-things/

its not final, but this still could be an idea to float to give the Rorqual some love

Actually that was really cool. Just based on that, yeah the rorqual is losing some of its unique abilities, however it is kind of a good thing overall

Also, we do know the Rorqual needs more love to be a more viable ship, and that is being looked into, but chances are this won’t make it in EVE’s summer expansion.
This gives me hope. However it is sad it won't be in tine for summer.

I'd certainly like to see the rorqual operating as the centrepiece of a mining expedition fleet, protecting and buffing miners, and functioning as a mobile refinery so one doesn't have to put down roots in order to get the benefits. Lots of potential with this ship.

Now, I haven't done any math (because i'm lazy and not very good at it), but from what I understand in that dev blog, compressions done in a Rorqual and the POS compression array, will be on a competitive ground with current mineral compressions (example given was 425mm railgun i think). It may no longer be necessary to need a rorqual to refine ores. In combination with a buff/nerf to station refining in high/null and POS arrays.

I think this is actually good, because it lets the Rorqual to no longer be a necessary point for those tasks and allows for it to become more focused on resource gathering itself (hopefully on site), rather than the processing of materials.

Calling the Compression Array a Nerf to the Rorqual is like calling the Mobile tractor unit a nerf to the Noctis. I don't see it as a nerf but a logical progression of ore compression itself. Especially since this can be used in areas the rorqual cannot access: High Sec.

Losing the blue prints for compression was also a good idea.

Will be interested in seeing the changes they make to the Rorqual when they get around to it.

Cloaking is the closest thing to a "Pause Game" button one can get while in space.

you're only going to want to reprocess at your factory. If your factory is a pos, you would just use pos arrays.
