Anti-capital marauder

so how about a new module for marauders, or a marauder hull that can equip the already existing module, for doomsdays?

make it so that it can either fit guns or a tank with this module, but not have the CPU/PG for both, and it can only fire and deal damage to capitals. MUST be in Bastion mode to fire (with maybe an extra deployment animation if the module is equipped)

the fire rate and exact damage compared to oen used by a titan is debatable, I dont remember the exact stats for the doomsdays because Im not a titan pilot, all i can say is paladin with spine-mounted laser cannon would be sweet, and be a little-guy alternative to moving titans everywhere (but having ALOT less EHP and damage to compensate for the price and maneuverability).

just a thought i had out of boredom, gives marauders a more valid pvp use, reduces reliance on having supers to take sov, and frankly i think we need less bazillion-damage weapons exclusive to hulls with the equivalent HP of a fleet of battleships mushed together.

Yes there is a second thread about anti-capital BS's open in the top few slots right now.

You might as well continue this one though so we can ridicule this idea separately from the other one.

Take a bs...make it a marauder if you want, land on death star. Time how long it takes for you to go boom.

Dreads have high ehp to not diaf on a deathstar in seconds flat.

This the subtle point you and your fellow idea posterss keep on forgetting. Deathstars kill bs' fast. So do 100 man primary calls made by a hostile fleet FC. Even bastioned resists is not stopping this. As you lack the ehp of a dread. Deathstar's and primary call are cases of high enough damage incoming you will feel something no matter wtf your resists profile is. This is where the meat of the dread saves its ass.

So would even sieged dreads, the things you are trying to kill. You are at 0 m/s second...not hard to hit. By them or their backup fleet of bs' and below.

So they die easily, then its not OP, but it brings an alternative to dropping dreads, offset by the fact that in many cases you can bring many of these instead of a ttian so you can hopefully get enough doomsdays off before you lose your battleships to kill a couple capitals. Since right now its "deploy capitals, enemy deploys more, deploy titans, whoever deploys the most auto-wins because bazillion-damage attack fired by the equivalent of a large-tower with a shitton of hardeners"

we have Tier 3 battlecruisers for battleship weaponry, they see a use despite having much less EHP than their battleship counterparts, would say a battleship with capital guns, but capital guns are so bad for tracking and general combat that you need the dreads EHP just to survive long enough to hit something.

So basically since you arn't moving when you fire this weapon, you will get killed quickly by the dread since you later said...

Which basically means you won't insta pop the capital. So it will just shrug it off and pop you with it's guns.

From there your ship costs as much as a capital, so why would you use a marauder when you could just use a capital yourself.

Lastly there are already anti capital subcaps in the game, they are called the Bhaalgorn and the Geddon. Try using these and see how well that capital can keep its tank up.
