Sorry for the double topic,


Anyway. So I'm a carebear, lol. That decided after joining the game, leaving the game, rejoining (over and over). That I needed something that would actually keep me in the game. SO, I decided to learn to kill people. Killing people just.. makes me happy. Usually in low sec, usually leave their pods and their loot. I just want to shoot you. I killed, I died, blah blah blah and started to enjoy eve a hell of a lot more now though, I find myself getting aggravated.

First, Faction warfare

Never actually joined faction warfare, just tried to kill people in those spots. Heard it can be quite profitable to farm (I hate farming.. all kinds. Sucks the soul :P). But after flying around in those sites I never did truly expect, 90% of everyone that does it.. to be warp stabbed and playing with themselves while doing, "Faction warfare".. well I was wrong.

"Why, is this allowed?" We're in low sec, supposidly the most dangerous area of eve. (excepting Jita, which is funny) participating in a "war" and we're free to syphon money off the empires war effort. Doesn't make sense to me. SO.. why don't the 4 empires, start researching say.."defense measures" against people farming from them?

Such as.. I'm in a retribution, with a buddy of mine fighting for the amarr (fully stabbed by the way). We warp into a minmatar complex. At the gate, I scan the complex and its empty. We warp in. As soon as we attack the npc in there. He drops.. some mobile device. jeez, the thing has 100k hp and resists.. "Wait, why are my prop mods blinking red?"

The idea is, these npc's should drop something like a warp core, destabilizer. A bubble per se. If you go in, without being stabbed, and shoot the npc. This device should prevent warping off.. within 70km of it. And if your ship does have stabalizers.. it fries them, overheating your prop mods to death. Guarenting that if the opposing faction comes in.. or other hunters.. your day is screwed.

(Please, someone comment on this, I need idea's. Like said, I hate isk machines (besides moons.. lol you have to defend moons :P) and I strongly support the ganking of afk miners in high sec and beyond :P)

MISSILES

Again in low sec. There is nothing I like seeing less.. than missile boats. Why? I can't counter them. If there is a way, please for the love of god, someone speak up. (unless its, get a better missile boat).

Sensor damps and ecm can help. (unless its FoF missiles..) but its completly illogical a single sensor damn against a caracal and you in 3 frigs. Ain't gonna help ya. If its ecm? Completly pointless unless your flying a caldari boat built for it. Tracking disruptor?? worthless, same as target painters (yes, 3 frigs.. we can kill the dreaded vexor. caracal with light missiles? lol)

So what can we do?? How about, redressing defender missiles? Make it so.. defender rocket, will kill rockets or light missiles in 1 shot. defender L.missile. all below and assault. Assault, below and heavy. And NO heavy defenders (cruise and torps.. not sure, might need be left alone to do their thing)

Now in the spirit of missiles, I honestly think.. 1 rocket (capable of taking out a light missile remember?) should be able to take out a full flight of 8 :) IF the guy firing the lights, has grouped all his missiles together. The blast of the missle blowing, should destroy the others. This could at least.. cause a missile guru to have to , stagger his missiles (f1, f2, f3) and making these moduals actually be used, instead of just collecting dust.

(if this is how it works already.. ignore me. was just trying to figure out a way to counter and haven't actually tested them yet. :)

I'll try the speed thing. the hitctor.. well, thinking that will draw way more attention than I'm wanting. lol. What kind of speed we talking about? with the 50% reduction on mwd sig radius for AF. Can I afford to orbit in one at say.. 3000km's? Would that negate enough of light missile damage to affectingly have a few frigs take down a light cruiser? hmm just have to give it a try I guess.

You aren't attempting to imply that nullsec is somehow dangerous, are you?

Faction Warrior checking in.

- Encounter Sensor Damps? Bring a fast, close range brawler (see: Atron).

- Encounter missile kiters? Bring a ship that can shoot at range (and align yourself just right to hit) and/or drone boat. Equip a sensor booster if you expect to face dampeners.
Alternatively, use Sensor Dampeners. Fight dirty whenever you can.

- Need to get out of a kiter's grasp? "Slingshot" to get out. Point in the direction you want to warp (with prop mods off)... prime the overheat button... wait til their orbit is more or less in front of you... then turn on the prop mod and spam warp.

- Use your Directional Scanner a lot. If you see danger, run. There is no shame in it. Sometimes simply surviving is a victory.

- never EVER use warp core stabs yourself... or let anyone use stabs... especially in PvP. Not only will you be ridiculed, but they actually nerf a ships ability to fight (less targeting range and speed and less CPU).

- Pick and choose your targets based on the ship you are in. In this case, your Retribution is terrible against anyone using speed and/or Tracking Disruptors. Try using a Vengence (it will either be able to indefinitely tank them or fend them off using javalin rockets or light missiles.

- If you are dead-set on using a Retribution... range-gank fit it (similar to a Navy Slicer). Using Scorch (Tech 2 range ammo) you should be able to reach out and "touch" things at the 15+ km range while buzzing around with your MWD. The key is to stay as far away from everything else that even looks like a brawler.

You missed a great chance with that one.

lol. Point taken on all accounts. I usually don't die to often anymore.. unless I get unlucky and someone warps to me on a gate as I'm going in. (Or recently when I decided to.. learn soloing in cruisers. Been rough :P) But cool. Thanks all, the tips on escaping an orbit, never actually tried that. I will, defiantly.
