Does the new drone drops apply to drones in unrated drone plexes?

I, too, would like to know if SOE chips can be obtained from drone combat sites. They might even be worth running.

Yes, any drone plex that has sentient spawns (afaik all of them) will drop these chips.

unrated plexes spawn sentients, so yes.

Some unrated plexes have guarnteed sentients (the way that 7/10 and the BR/Serp 8/10 have guaranteed faction spawns), which will drop these. As for the chips being also added to the DED-rated plex loot table, that's a separate question.
