Audible alarm on mining barges

Add an audible alert on barges to warn the miner that a vessel having a bad standing is in the system.

The player may configure this alarm according to the standing of the character, or the corporation or the alliance. This is necessary because the mining in EVE is soporific and you just need little moment of inattention to lose his ship.

- The configuration of this alarm is persistent and the player can adjust at any time.
- This alarm will only be available on mining barges.
- The default value of this audible alert is Off.

So, with this new tool, a player who legally mine (without using bot) will have an extra chance to protect her ship against troublemakers (Ganker).

Sorry to be devil's advocate again here but I think that it's up to the player to be vigilant in local/overview. If you afk for some reason you are then accepting the risk of doing so.

This is not necessary. A moments lack of attention can lose you your ship during any activity, not just when mining.

If you are "legally" mining you don't need an extra chance, pay attention to local and your overview instead of suggesting crap like this.

This is the perfect answer.

My Condor costs less than that module!

Local and D-scan are all the sources of intel you need, alongside proper piloting. If you want to afk and remain safe, stay docked or cloaked at a safe spot.

EVE is what happens when the rule of law does not apply and Darwinism is allowed to run freely.

Not empty quoting.

D-scan and local just aren't for the AFK.

How does it feel to think the world owes you things?

Bacon will get you banned.
They wouldn't deliberately add a ship with bacon capabilities.
Suddenly mining barges would become the best intel ships in the game.

Not a forum alt.

To talk like that you are not miners. Shocked

When you are in combat, you have alarms that can warn you that your ship is damaged. On a barge these alarms are not helpful.

You can not always have your nose glued to the local chat and overview. My technical mining is the one I used when I was in area 0.0. My barges are always placed in the right direction to be ready to go and my local chat is fully open. And despite my vigilance, sometimes I lose a ship.

When you mine you have many things to do and an audible alarm could be very usefull to prevent of danger.

Audible (hey, you're on fire!) alarms are just as useless on other ships as they are on barges.

Dammit, now I need a barge that serves me bacon sandwiches in the morning...

Would that be the T3 barge?

Only because mining is boring doesnt mean you can do other stuff, someone who does AFK Missioning (yes i see you dominix) is risking his Ship too, but i suppose that this fact wont even bother you, am i right?

BTW: If you can overlook the Bad Guys on local you also can overhear them, just saying...

Yep, you can hear the sizzle from Bacon guns in the distance followed by the blop-blop-blop as brown sauce drones are deployed to provide covering fire...

We are in a futuristic world where technology is very advanced. What would prevent me from having an alarm to warn me that an ass.... is in the system ?

In this case, why do we have a big visual alarm when we have a incursion ??? and I can't have a good tool when a ass... come to the system ?

It's not logical ! Shocked

Peace!

Back to my first reply, logic doesn't really come into it. It is a means to make you choose between sitting and being vigilant or going afk and taking the risk. An artificial means to an end maybe but still effective.
