Another Problem with Mission Rat AI

So, I was just doing a level IV mission and the funniest thing in the world just happened to me.

I warped into a Blood-Raider themed mission, there were multiple cruisers at the acceleration gate. Out of sheer reflex, I entered bastion mode (which I could have done without) in my Golem. Now for the really weird ****, the cruisers were quite close to me and I, ofcourse, was immobile. But they couldn't hit me because they were orbiting ME.

That's right ladies and gentlemen, I just invented the speed-tanking bastion Golem.

Seriously now, why isn't there a function in the AI of rats that they actually try and keep the radial velocity of their targets BELOW their tracking? Hence my suggestion, add that function! Because speed tanking bastion Golems, no matter how situational, should be impossible.

Despite what you may have heard there's only one rule of EVE:

Never stop learning and realise there's always a lot more to be learned. To this end, seek wisdom in everything.

I do see same stuff

BS attack my Bastion Golem, and still miss 40 km away from me.

no matter how close they are to you - if they're orbiting you, then they should (by the nature of EVE-o ships) be keeping your ship at a (close to) fixed position relative to their ship, that is to say, you should always be about 5km from them, in a direction that runs at 5 degrees from the z axis of their ship, therefore, their guns shouldn't be tracking, in as much as compensating for minute course changes they make, therefore they should hit..... this isn't an AI issue, it's a physics/maths issue

EDIT - I assume that they're in a STABLE orbit, rather than trying to reach the stable orbit, if the orbit's unstable, then tracking DOES become an issue

For posting an idea into F&I: come up with idea, try and think how people could abuse this, try to fix your idea - loop the process until you can't see how it could be abused, then post to the forums to let us figure out how to abuse it..... If your idea can be abused, it WILL be.

yeah it happens with angels as well. their BS's orbit too fast or too close to effectively hit a static BS.
