No self destruct inside the POS shields

This is mainly about wormhole space. As most wh residents know, conquering an active wh (destroying all enemy poses) is a really effort full task, as the attacker is at a big disadvantage. Most evictions end in nothing gained for the attacker as the defender can self destruct all ships and modules in the safety of his pos shields, effectively denying the attacker even the killmails.

I propose to make it impossible to self destruct ships in the pos shields, should be an easy code fix (I am speculating here), as that alone would be a great conflict driver especially in wh space. If you need to self destruct you should be out of the POS shields. Currently most evictions are done for epeen, space honor, or evicting afk corps. There is simply no good in game reason or mechanic to "invade" other active corps' home holes.

If the fear of that being too harsh on farmers as that will probably increase eviction rates (hopefully), then this change can be implemented in higher class wormholes (c5 / c6), deemed "deadly dangerous" by CCP themselves.

I mean currently in wh space farming sites is essentially completely safe if you do it right, the only threat is eviction (and Blood Union :P). Wh is simply becoming too safe.

In null you have to form or your space is taken, in wh there is simply no good reason for other people to take your space.

Scorched Earth should be a valid tactic to defend with.

Only if you have the ability to burn them, if the enemy got you locked in the tunnels you shouldn't be able to burn down the whole castle. especially that you won't get killmails.

And it is not about realism, it is about good game mechanics and conflict drivers.

mechanics that lets you do something in one place but not in another are pretty bad, not to mention confusing

I would be OK with not allowing SD inside of pos shields. But only if that were the case everywhere in eve. No arbitrary rules about where.

And this would be a good conflict driver IMO.

I'm right behind you

But they can burn any stores located in the tunnels. Which is actually what they are doing. You have them locked into a POS and they are burning everything inside the walls they are in. So your own analogy says they should be able to burn the ships.
