Something was hidden in Rubicon 1.1 - also "There is no turning back" motto from the expansion ~ exactly turning back from what ? Ghost sites ? Perhaps we will know what. Time to data mine patch 1.1.

Sure could be an extra payload in Rubicon 1.1, it seemed to take longer to download than Rubicon 1

Is it when the moons and planets start moving in their orbits, thus making most bookmarks useless?
Why would they? It's trivial to calculate it's position in space on the fly. CCP has all the data necessary to change the absolute coordinates into relative ones and that calculation could be easily done on the client too. No?

But you're forgetting a couple of things:
  1. Did you specify relative or absolute location as you saved your bookmarks?
  2. The CCP devs love to troll the players.
Twisted

Every moving celestial has an area of influence, a coordinate system that moves and rotates with it. If you place the BM in a moon's area, it moves with the moon (as would your ship). If its in a planet's area (but not a moon) it moves with the planet. Otherwise its fixed relative to the sun. Buffer zones are needed to handle cases where I'm sitting near a planet and a moon orbits to my location.

No mention of Turbulence in anything, neither HTML or other sources. Its a timer that will refresh the page at when its done, and that's all the page mentions.

Considering it's on the community page and not the front page, I'm guessing it's something dumb.

Since it's in the community page and the first Dev to respond was Falcon, I'm about 99.999999999999999% sure it's counting down to the release of EVE: Source.

But we'll see in a matter of a few hours what it means.

I think you are wrong. The collector's edition box set was a way bigger deal.

I'm 99.999999999999999% sure it's going to be a big announcement about content in New Eden. Something real, not merchandise. Blink

With as many fresh eyes as we've drawn lately, and given the considerable prowess of the EvE marketing team, I can't see how it could be anything else. Were I to put on my marketer hat for a second I would say "Look, we have drawn more attention to EvE this week than ANY marketing campaign we've launched to date. I don't care how close you are on the NDA'd feature "X", you're going to announce the vision now as the final product, and we're going to disclose some features. You simply aren't going to get this much attention or have this much sway with potential new players by spending marketing dollars. We need to go now." That's my thinking anyway. This kind of audience can't be bought. We'll see if I'm talking out of my ***.

But if it was a really big announcement, why isn't it on the front page, just in the community page? Makes no sense not to advertise it more. The CE was announced in the fanfest live feed, there was no need for a countdown clock for it.

Also, EVE Source is a pretty big deal for anyone interested in the story and the world of EVE, and it is all about the content of New Eden.

But as said, let's wait and see. That is my guess what it will be.

Seeing as that EVE:Valkyrie has recently been added to the forums, My official guess would be the opening of the Valk beta.

Hmmm.

When I log into Dust the clock stops. But when I realize no one else is on, then log off, it starts counting down again.
