10 precious lives were rescued from the clutches of imminent death in one of the, now infamous, death cans. Back at the warm friendly Matriculation Center, they begin life anew.

Another rescue just a bit ago. 18 former slaves were freed and 3 slave traders were taken into custody. It is always a bit ironic to see the juxtaposition happening before your very eyes. That considered, the slave traders are still very relieved to be rescued. It has become known that we neither execute slavers nor hand them over to those who do. Incarceration seems to be preferred to either death can or execution.

How many slaver's total do you have in your incarceration at this point? I'm a bit curious to see how many Amarrian citizens you are holding. I know you have mentioned occasional taking of the slavers, just want to know the tally. Is my understanding that they are currently being kept in a prison facility on your planets as well correct?

Also, Ston, I was unsuccessful in my attempts to recover anyone from that fateful ship.

Dear Ms. Goldcore,
First, it is good to see that you are well. I am sure Ston will talk to you when he has the opportunity. We are holding 40 slavers presently, but they are not all Amarrian. In fact, some are of unknown nationality. These individuals do not seem to identify themselves by citizenship. Most have not been cooperative with giving us information. They still believe that we will hand them over for execution; something we have promised not to do. I cannot give you an exact tally as to Amarrian citizenship. We are still working on this.

Edit: other details here

very well. You understand my concern is that Amarrian citizens (which could be of any race) may be detained for breaking no Amarrian law. Although they very may easily have done so with illegal slave raids or other violations (but obviously slaving is not illegal by any means in the Empire).

I know that often persons whom attend to slaves may be simply designated as 'slaver' as well. Some persons you have there may have been simply in charge of the care taking of their charges when the capsuleer decided to jet them out to space. In which case the only 'crime' the 'slaver' would have committed is doing his lawful (by any nation's law) job.

But thank you for cooperating and I will likely wish to investigate this mater further.

I pray you peace.

A rescue performed this afternoon saved 38 lives. I have been keeping an eye on things around the border today, so they did not have to endure the death can for long. They were glad to be safe and sound in the center.

There is water shortage crisis to deal with at our Matriculation Centers. The long term solution will right the situation as water production increases at our planetary colony. My concern is for the interim. I may have to ration water for each of our centers on a week to week basis until production is up.

I am considering opening another water production facility on another planet to meet demands. For now, lets all pitch in an conserve where we can.

Edit: I have now establish a water production facility on an oceanic planet neat our centers. Hopefully, this will meet the increased demand for water as of late. Disciples, I will try to keep the depot stocked as well as I can. Please be patient.

I have two rescue operations to report. Both occurred yesterday a few hours apart. All 35 people are now safe and sound. One group consisted of all men, all of whom had been treated rather poorly. They had been worked nearly to death. They are undergoing medical and nutritional therapy at Center #1. The other group was in better condition. It is especially disturbing to see the children put through such terror by their captors.

OK, I will begin training the minimal skills needed to build and begin operating a water production facility just for Center #1. If we have an excess, I will bring it to the depot. I'll get started as soon as possible.

A fairly large rescue was conducted a short time ago. My crew took in 117 former slaves who were place in crew quarters first and tended to. This was followed by 17 slave traders and 25 hounds. This is the largest single group of hounds that we have ever rescued. This was a challenge for the crew in that the animals were frightened and disoriented. Once back at the center, things went well as the residents there have experience in handling hounds and facilities to care for them.

I see I will need to make another trip to Corp HQ with more inmates and hounds for the training program.

I hate to complicate your life, Manwe, but have you included hounds in your water calculations?

It was a busy day of rescue ops. This last one was distressing. Do you know what it feels like when someone truly despises you life? As I approached the border gate, I saw a jet can titled "f- -k em" Aboard were 28 former slaves, 3 slave traders, and 10 hounds. Upon our return to Center #1 I had a chance to talk to some of those rescued. This time the Slavers talked. They were shaken. Gone was the superior notion of control over others. They described a pilot without any semblance of humanity who mocked their lives and held them in no more importance than the slaves they were transporting. They told me that this pilot savored the experience of telling them of how they would die in the "death can" in the cold and radiation of space. He told them that pilots passing into Caldari space would not take the time to rescue them and that they would be scanned but left. He told them that their deaths would most unpleasant. All 31 persons rescued will need time in counseling after this experience.

It will be another two weeks before The Disciples of Ston will be able to transport larger numbers of rescued, former slaves out of Amarr space and into the Federation, State, and Republic. In the mean time, another small transportation of students and instructors to our vocational and academic centers is planned in a day or two. Our service dog training program is growing and we need more trainers.

This reminds me to encourage pilots to spare slaver hounds. Don't put these amazing animals to death. Our Centers are glad to receive them and retrain them.

100 new trainers and 41 hounds were safely transported out of Amarr space and to our vocational Center in Korama today. These trainers are all former slaves who successfully befriended slaver hounds while they were what are called "elite slaves" under brutal working conditions before they were rescued. Now they are joining the training staff at our service dog program in Korama. Part of the increase of staff members is so that current trainers can learn new techniques from the staff that arrived today. We now have a total of 84 dogs being trained as service dogs in the center.

20 slave traders were also transported to the detention center in Korama where they will join 40 other inmates, bringing the population of inmates to 60. We have recently increased our staff level at the detention center to accomodate the growing population of slave trader inmates housed there.

All of these passengers came from Matriculation Center #1.

No problems were encountered during transport. Cloak deactivated only once when we passed close to another vessel, but we were able to re-cloak and were not scanned once during the journey.

A single, lone person was rescued this morning from a death can. He told me of requesting to be dropped off at a station, but the pilot di not "have the time" to back track a system to find a station. "Time is ISK," so he was dumped to die alone. I feel such gratitude to have been present in time to pick him up. After facing death in absolute isolation, he described the presence of my ship's crew as a "spiritual warmth much like a blanket in winter." We were happy to be so for you my new friend.

Today, I performed a very interesting rescue and one that I have not yet encountered in our work. While patrolling a border crossing, scanners picked up two jet cans. I headed to the closer of the two and discovered 8 scientists on board. My first question to them was, "what happened." They promptly replied, "we don't know." Apparently one moment they we relaxing in the passenger lounge and the next they were floating a death can in space. Were they attacked? Were they dumped? They don't know and neither do we. We will try to find out and until we know, the pilot will be listed on the Wall of Shame.

The second can was a typical rescue with 55 former slaves, their 14 captors and 18 hounds. I am glad that the voc center has added staff as there will be another 18 dogs to retrain. 55 people are pondering a new life of freedom and 14 are pondering life as a detention center inmate.
