Idea about blueprints and ship production.

I was pondering on if it should be possible to bring ship blueprints into the fitting screen and then fit it with module blueprints. When a fit was done it could be moved around and used as a single blueprint.
When used in production it would create a ship with modules/rigs already fitted.

Interesting idea. I would assume its not possible to produce an item that isn't packaged however. It could also likely be abused in various ways.

Never forget.

I suppose it would need to exit the factory in an unpackaged state.

Another option would be to let modules from the modified BP mot be swappable and let the ship be packaged in it's out of factory condition.

Abuse, not sure what it could be, but i guess someone would find out how to use it for scamming

ok lets roll the idea abit.

for the creation u need the hull bpc, one item bpc per fit per run.
The so created fitting cant be modified in any way.
The creation would cost 10% wasted mats either in datacores or later in production.
Because of the drawbacks mentioned earlier you could state something like better integration lets you add 1 role bonus of your choice (race of the hull decides which are available).

Now with that we would improve fleet doctrines, in some rare cases pve. Im not sure about small gang so or single.

Albeit these ships can only be sold per contract with a big warning label saying that u buy a prefab ship which cant be changed.

I didn't want to make imba ships, just wanted to let players create common fits straight out of the factory.
Perhaps the sacrifice of modular-abillity would give some mass reduction and/or less materials used.

BPOs should also be an option.

The database treats packaged and unpackaged items fundamentally differently. A packaged item cannot contain anything, so a ship produced in this manner would have to be unpackaged upon completion (Part of the point of packaging is stackability and containing items makes something unique, and thus unstackable)

That said, I think this idea has merit. I would love to be able to have a ship that I can ready immediately that is equipped.

I'm not an expert on databases, but would it be possible to make a prefab ship a unique ID if its fittings was locked into place?

Maybe this idea would result in time savings, you are building the mods alongside the ship so the manufacture run builds*all* items at once with a x0.75 production time bonus (like building in a POS)
