Guess what...it's 1 hour till downtime

"Dear players, the servers are down for 30 minutes each day for maintenance and updates. The daily downtime will begin in 1 hour at 11:00. The servers will be back up again shortly. Please make sure your characters are out of harm's way before the servers close."

5 and maybe even 15 minute minute warnings make sense but I seriously couldn't care less that there's a whole... umm, freaking hour until downtime, especially when the warning comes in a modal messagebox that blocks me from any other action until I click "OK". And guess what? If I happen to lose connection(or log off for whatever reason) and have to log back in before DT happens, it's gonna leap at me again!

Can we have that warning removed, or at least make it come with a "don't show this again" checkbox? Pretty please with sugar on top?

Workarounds are not bugfixes.

ccp has to code/implement processes for the lowest common denominator.

I work in IT and even with ample warning, given several times, you get those special users who call and say the system I took offline is down. Some go oh....my bad when I remind them I sent out quite a few mails for this. Then you get the asshats who emo rage over this.

The must click on pop up is so you nkow full well it is coming up. So that when one of the idiots or asshats above or those like them submit a petition doing high level stuff and for whatever safe warp out does not work on the dt shutdown the gm's can basically write that petition off after they ask one question. Did you see and click on the pop that kindly reminds you to get out of harms way? Yes? Well there ya go (put more tactfully of course).

Sorry, its the nature of the IT beast. I know I'd like to not have have many of my control measures in place for my good users (I am not completely jaded, some good users are out there lol). Its thier special brothers and sisters that make me do it. The latter....just way too many of them.

It would be nice though (maybe configurable) if they could be set as popups similar to when a skill training is complete that pops up and fades away on its own.

could it maybe be made a box that you can click ANYWHERE on - rather than just the tiny ok button - to dismiss?
that warning's gotten me into more danger than DT itselft.... I've had a few dicey moments in missions and WH's.....

For posting an idea into F&I: come up with idea, try and think how people could abuse this, try to fix your idea - loop the process until you can't see how it could be abused, then post to the forums to let us figure out how to abuse it..... If your idea can be abused, it WILL be.

to be honest the fact that the message locks the whole ui until it's dismissed is the most irritating part.

That's a fair point, but when spam your users with popups everywhere they go, they will eventually start to dismiss them without reading and this can have bad consequnces. In EVE, this is probably most annoying on market, where you'll get spammed with "this price is 1000000% more than regional average" even though you put up a sell order for normal price.
