I have seen a few website blogs mention getting their wife or girlfriend to play (If they are a French PM - maybe both). You might do a google search for those. There is also a prominent blog site about low-sec written by a female player that is quite interesting.

p.s. If you come across 'Erotica 1' in game, DON"T fall for her.

For the free stuff.. Well for many female players they will just abuse you and laugh at you behind your back for constantly giving them stuff. Sure some like it, but trust me, chances that you will find a girl in EVE that falls madly in love with you because you give them ISK or similar is very very slim Lol
Yeah but I don't think that is so much the case for EVE with guys having female avatars anyway. I mean like early in EQ1 I realized guys did this, "RP'd" as a female primarily to get stuff and help from other players, and other games of the sort I've noticed this since then. WoW is like that too (played a few months), such as EQ1, since there is no real PvP system in place in the general game and people can sit back and avoid encounters with other players in that way, allowing them to play a weak and defenseless girl that needs help and free stuff (as they perceive it).

But when you play games with pvp, you find a lot of female avatars. They don't play them to get stuff and help, but to be underestimated, playing on the stupidity of some peoples perceptions, or preconceptions. I noticed this first in early UO among PvPers and FW players where you would find a lot of female characters but played by guys. Yes, some were actually women, I've known some really good pvpers that were women especially back then in UO with the high-fantasy theme that lured many women to the game. EVE falls under the same format, so you find a lot of pvpers sporting female avatars, though is technology based so less actual female players. However with the nature of EVE, there is no real advantage since the secret is out and this game has like 4% female subscribers... at best? Maybe 1% that are not forced to play with their BF's or husbands but actually play because they like this game format.

Other than that, EVE is less about the avatar and more about the ship you fly into combat. Here the avatar is more of a decoration, like a hot car with a lady standing next to it. So much different than those progression theme parks and their character immersion in an RP setting. In games like WoW or GW2 will find those long forum debates where people are all upset/disgusted over guys with female characters, but that doesn't happen here as this isn't a progression theme park where players want their immersion of game into real-life and thinking someone in a female avatar is a prospect to play cute little mini-games with. Here we just make war, and no one is going to give you what you want unless you take it from them by force.

Here is you're answer, no women play EVE. Well maybe a few but their husbands make them do it heh

False, my gf plays eve and is in fact the one that originally suggested getting back into the game at some point in the past.

Sweeping generalizations are inherently false.

As to the OP, to seriously answer your question the most effective way is talking with them over VOIP such as Vent, Teamspeak, Razer Comms, etc. If they are using a voice changer and your being tricked? Hilarity ensues.

Sweeping generalization vs sweeping generalization?
Anyway I also included GF's to that sweeping generalization in another post, I was just on my tablet when writing that so didn't get into any detail. Yeah so you're GF misses that time with you playing EVE? Sure, women want to feel needed by their BF's. Doesn't change the numbers.

It's a sense of irony and play on words to drive a point.

You said "no women play eve". I mentioned this was false, they do in fact play. Yes the game is a total sausage fest for certain, but some girls do play. I would gather that most of them wouldn't publicly admit on the forum or in-game that they are of the female persuasion, and for good reason. The number of female players may in fact be higher than some here think.

er huh? I did? Point to where reading complete paragraphs touched you in an inappropriate place. Or making lead-in humor of sorts for that matter, we take all things SERIOUSLY in EVE Lol

Demographics

As of October 2006, the average age of an Eve Online player was 27, and 95% of players were male. The average weekly playtime was 17 hours, or just under 2.5 hours per day.

Granted these numbers are very very old, but honestly i dont think they have changed that much.

This is an article from 2013, which supports that, the numbers have actually gone down instead of up.

That being said, i have no idea how CCP gets these numbers, and i doubt its 100% accurate but it cant be off by that much (1-2% maybe).
