Friendly Fire in FW?

So Im thinking about joining an NPC FW corp for a few weeks, but as Ive been reading up on it I came across this:

Shooting your own FW militia member/container/wreck will result in a security status hit, CONCORD aggression-flagging in high-security space, and a standing hit with your own faction.

Id really like to try FW for a bit, but Id rather not have to worry about getting shot by "friendly" militia members.. How often does this happen in low-sec space?

More than it should.

It's not a completely bad thing. It does set things up for excellent drama and epeen waving.

How did you Veterans start?

Protip: Friendly militia can't AWOX you with a warp stab. They'd have to fit guns to do that.

And, as I indicated, he had guns fit.

Apparently he wasn't happy sharing his plex. He should have come properly equipped to defend it if he was going to start taking pot shots.

I don't think 'teamwork' is a word in most capsuleers vocabulary.
They just have 'People I backstab now' and 'People I backstab later'.

That seems to be the major cause of friendly fire in FW. It can be avoided sometimes, by showing some courtesy or communicating with the other plexers in local. Note that I said sometimes, not always.

get in a FW corp, use standings to identify the persons or corps that pirate against their own militia.

Bad overview settings cause friendly fire also. We have pirates in the militia but instead of having militia standings above security status people see -5 or worse. They shot the person with bad security status that is also "friendly" to their militia.
