Hi !

The concept is quite simple (but I detail it):
Why not allowing players to attack other player's Command Centers with space-to-ground ammo?

In Planet Mode, right clic on an ennemy Command Center, choose "warp to attack point". Your ship warps, an orbital emergency broadcast beacon (not bacon)is created for the occasion and people can warp to it like if it was a cyno. The beacon cease to function if nobody attacks the target Command Center for too long (5 minuts) to avoid overview flooding.

Attack ship should be equiped with space-to-ground ammo, and it could be a great opportunity to create medium and large variations. Plus make the damage dependant of the turret damage and rate of fire bonuses of the ship. Rather than a blank number of turrets.

The attacked Command Center, depending on its level, would ultimately enter reinforced mode and becomes invulnerable for 23 hours. The higher his level is, the most HP it requires to loose before entering reinforced. Substancial increase between level 4 and 5. Owner receives a DED mail indicating that his command center is under attack.

After the reinforced time, the Command Center would remain vulnerable for as long as the owner hasn't warped to the customs office and sent to the planet a special item that repairs its installations. (So that you can camp the customs office to prevent the defense of multiple command centers at the same time).

No. Planetary Interaction shouldn't be expanded upon until it gets a much warranted revamp.

One would not prevent the other. But you're right it could use a rewamp. If they do, I strongly hope that they won't forget to add a pvp component into a pvp game.

I can't help but think this would shift PI balance towards bigger corps as all you would need to do is bomb the little guy out of existence with no threat of real retaliation. Also you would effectively be bombing civilian targets so even in low-sec I can't see his being allowed.

On the plus side it would be an interesting mechanic to introduce for military targets though. Perhaps a new mission type where you have to defend yourself over the target whilst bombing (suddenly thinks back to tailgunner or whatever the old game was called :D )

Player owned military installations could have ground based anti-space vessel weaponry that would give a player a zone of assistance. warp into the air-cover area and anyone attacking you gets hit with flak...

Now your bomber fleet can be attacked by allied frigates etc too :D Make the bombers have to scan down the ground based target whilst under fire for improved bomb accuracy/damage and you have a whole new warfare arena ...

+1 for the idea, but not for the proposed target

My idea is much less ambitious than yours :D You have to stay realistic, that's the problem. Also, there are hundreds of thousands of installations across new eden, and thousands of planets. It would be really hard to control the PI production. Plus, bigger corp can already control Customs Offices anyway. And yet there are only a few customs offices that are closed to neutrals... Because corps prefer to gain direct money from it rather than making prices rise only a bit. (Because we are in a huge economy, no one is motivated to loose profit just to make prices rises by a tiny bit)

Players can control customs office but that doesn't stop the little guy from producing and rocket launching if necessary, but being able to bomb PI installations with impunity could easily be used to imbalance PI. Just bomb every PI installation you find on whichever planets produce the fuel block stuff and watch prices rocket...

I have a tendency to thing big :D However I think there would need to be a new class of anti-ship structure that would provide air-cover. If you can apply dps in one direction you should be able to receive it also.

As for thinking big...I was just thinking of a new ship class of orbital bomber with multiple players on board...Pilot, bomb aimer running the mini game for targeting and multiple gunners controlling weapons in a star wars style mini-game against defence fighters :D Now that would be real [player co-operation in action...

That's not eve :D Their last attempt at creating a minigame wasn't very successful. An entierly chance based clickfest if you ask me.

What, the hacking mini-games?

They are chance-based to an extent (roguelikes generally are somewhat chance-based, which is what those mini-games are based off of), and do involve a decent amount of clicking, but they're still quite fun. More tactical decision making would be nice, but it's a decent implementation as is.

As for other "mini-games" in the future, I'm sure they could be done much differently.

be a big boy an shoot the customs office. You're in brave, I know you have enough friends.

We shot coutless custom offices recently, don't worry :D

But not everyone has the power or patience to do that, plus if you want to specifically ****-off someone, you won't just take down the whole custom office.

I didn't say that there was no possibility to disturb a player operation at the current time, but we could certainly use a midpoint between immunity and perturbation of the whole planetary business.

I think shooting down the POCO *is* the mid-point as you can still do PI but have to manage your rocket launches and cannot import goods. Bombing the entire installation would completely shut down PI on that planet for a given player or players.

the exploration mini game is only slightly chance based. this can be seen from the wildly differing failure rates between pilots. i lose between 3-5% of cans in null with lvl 4 hacking skills. This is way better than many others have reported with equal or better skills so i dispute the entirely chance based characterisation.

I like the idea of making PI installations combat ready and attackable. It would make PI more interesting than it already is (not very, currently)

i like the idea but i think it would only work with reinforcement timers.

PI buildings cost less than a depot however, there would be no real incentive to defend them. I mean a T2 fitted frig costs more than a typical PI setup. Also: a single destroyer could bombard every single command center of a planet with very little effort and never show up again. Its a bit too easy IMO ;)

how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value
