Don't remove pinning. I use it, I need it.

This combined with the new font will turn me right off the eve ui.

Ok, the feature does not work all the time, sometimes windows jump all over the place regardless of being pinned down or not.
But the majority of the time it does work as intended: keeping the windows and tabs (stacked or not) in place, nailed down on the spot, not accidentally movable, glued, taped, plastered, PINNED DOWN !
And why do I use that feature would you ask? For the same reason I lock modules on the HUD: to avoid mishaps when doing things in haste when the need arises. When you want to close or minimize a window you don't want it to move, you want it to close or minimize.

I mean who would have thought that in EvE, sometimes you have to go from happily sailing through silent and peaceful space to frantically activating modules and closing/minimising/clicking on windows just to save your ship? In my EvE?!? Never......

Here I used to have a sig of our old Camper in space. Now it is disregarded as being the wrong format. Looking out the window I see one thing: Nothing wrong with the format of our Camper! Silly CCP......

Lame reason is lame.

Give us window locks, I don't care what you call them.

Give us the option to make windows not transparent also.

I'd love to hear the "Technical Reasons" behind this change. 100 bucks says it's "because we kept breaking it when screwing with window code, so we decided to take the easy way out" Roll

Wouldn't surprise me in the least tbh.

Come on CCP, anyone that pins a window actually wants just that. As has been said before, we just accepted long ago that pin window didn't mean what it said and we needed to lock it as well. That is a fact.

Please make sure that the windows will be locked and transparent when pinned...
It's a really good feature so make sure the default setting will make sense.

Constantly use this feature, my overview always pinned so i can be more familiar with ctrl-click etc things with no resizing/moving OV.

It makes sense to remove the option because windows should ALWAYS be locked and transparent when pinned.

Why would we pin them unless we wanted them to stay there?

It's kinda important for pvp.

I would also say that the overview shouldn't "minimize" (whatever it does when you double-click the top bar) when its pinned.

My UI setup would probably completely break without pinning working as it does now.

Please do not remove this feature. I too would like "pin this window" to mean "pin this window"! P

The only reason people might not use this option is because it is set to off by default. Setting it to off by default is silly and the first think I do on any Eve client is set it on. I also tell everyone I fly with about this option and most people either know about it or are very happy to be told about it.

Don't 'fix' this by removing the option and forcing pinned windows to not be pinned at all. By all means remove the option, but set the windows to be unmovable permanently.

Quite frankly, the fact that window locking keeps breaking, with every new release and patch, is a bug - and this rather essential gameplay feature needs to be permanently fixed, not removed.

GUI programming isn't rocket science or brain surgery. Locking window positions is not something which should be "increasingly hard to maintain". This is basic core level stuff that you code once and should never need to touch again.

Sorry to be so critical, but debugging and fixing these sorts of problems is a large part of what I do in my RL profession. It just isn't that difficult.

Do not remove this feature. I discovered the pin button independently when I was just starting to play the game, and I can't imagine getting into combat with the risk of accidentally dragging a vital window.

I have used this feature since forever, and greatly desire that it be left in. "Difficult to maintain" is nothing in the face of removing an important (and simple!) feature from the game. The ability to pin windows is critical to maintaining a usable UI.

Please do not remove this feature. It is important, and everyone I know uses it.
