Please extend the skill TRAINING QUEUE Buffer to equal subsciption length.

I know a couple of people who are deployed abroad now and again who can't access the game for 6 months or so at a time but play outside of that and have to make "alternative" arrangements to keep their skill training going.

Just because you disagree with it does not mean it's not a valid justification. Encouraging people to play is a good reason. Ensuring people are actually playing the game is a good reason. Keeping database storage requirements down is a good reason (particularly now that all 3 characters on an account can be training simultaneously).

I see no proof that encouraging people to log in encourages them to play. Plenty of my old friends will pop online for the couple of minutes necessary to reset a new skill, but they usually do nothing more than that. If you want to encourage people to play, give them content.

How does this ensure that people are playing the game? Maybe making the game more interesting is a better way to keep the players actually playing the game. As long as CCP gets revenue for that amount of time, I see no issue with keeping characters active and training.

Keeping database storage down? Seriously? The game has to keep the characters in database no matter whether they are training or not.

CCP should add more NPC 0.0 space to open it up and liven things up: the Stepping Stones project.

OP is right. While it must suck for players serving abroad, if the queue was expanded, another thread would be up in weeks asking for more time.

It would seem though, that the only ones who would oppose this are Full time Players who have little else going on over the TEN plus years they may play this game.... it's so silly that it makes no sense. CCP allows you to Plex for in game value, but refuses to let you PLEX to not log in so often.

If I play for Ten years, I will have to on average log in thousands of times just to update each characters skills in order to advance my character. Not to mention the time watching my skills in EVEmon, forgetting to do it, etc... etc...

CCP can't you create a long term relationship with your client's and allow them to leave sometimes?
Firstly, plenty of valid points have been raised. The fact that you don't class them as valid is your problem.

Secondly, the queue is not enormous to encourage people to actually log in to play the game. Having months of queue time would just mean people can create a character, set it up to eventually be able to fly a capital then sod off and come back when the character is done cooking.

Thirdly, many skills day day, weeks or more. Try setting those as the final skill in your queue, and you can take weeks at a time between logging in.

Finally, if you want to play eve, then play EVE. If you want to not play it, then **** off. Honestly, nobody cares about the whining of someone who can't even be bothered to log into the game. When I started, there was no skill queue. You had to time your skills or alarm clock for 3am. I'd happily have those days back to separate the men from the whining little children.

Dude, you play way too much, if you're making comments like above....... you should uninstall this game ASAP, as it must be seriously messing with your RL. .... I mean really!

Any other mmo requires you to play in order to advance yourself. Eve is sinply less obnoxious about your time commitment

I guess you must be right!
I play a game and thus I must be mess up, while you want to pay for a game you don't want to play while it does it's own thing for you, and you are perfectly normal. I happen to like games to be a bit challenging. If everyone could just queue the same skills for months at a time and never even had to find the time to log in, it would hardly promote challenging gameplay. I guess next you'll want PI to auto-refresh and deliver itself.

Seriously guy. If the length of time level 5 skills give you between queue adjustments is not enough, you need to seriously consider if you have the free time to play games at all (or the free time to come crying on forums for that matter). Why not just play COD if you need to just ad-hoc login and not worry about losing out when you can't play for months at a time.

While you can queue the end of line skills, you still need to log in periodically to change them. And a viable capital pilot isn't just the skills to get in it, but also all of the weapon and support skills and their prereqs.

So, login in to change skillque is challenging gameplay for you?

And peeps which can't have access to a Pc at all times are at a disadvantage because they can't que up a skill in time?

Seems the posters have touched the fine line between playing a game and being addicted to playing the game. CCP is fostering the latter by keeping the skillqueue length as it is.
