It would be great with an option to hide all messages send to local chat that was not written in cyrillic.

I'm a relatively respectable citizen. Multiple felon perhaps, but certainly not dangerous.

A Xenophobia feature ?

what about chat thast multinational? if i type part in cyrillic and part in roman? only filter part of it, or the whole message? In that case, what about names of structures in Cyrillic?

but on a more serious note, how will you know who is and isnt AFK if you cant see them making fun of your country in cyrillic?

Reasonable point here. This idea seems to make a little more trouble then it's worth.

The daily mail would be proud of your xenophobia OP. What next, filter all Spanish, German and French chat too?

Spanish, German and French speaking players seem perfectly fine with with using english as a common language, when chatting in local or other public chat channels.

It has nothing do it with xenophobia, there are just players who are not able to or interested in speaking english in public chat channels. I can't read cyrillic or understand any language it is native to, it would make most public chat channels i use more easy readable if it was just filtered out.

Currently i'm forced to ignore players using it, and i don't really like that option. I would just like a on/off button i can enable when two are more people start a conversation in cyrillic, so i don't have to watch it.

Or, you could be a good little racist and just ignore them.

No, it would be racist if I said I wanted to hide the avatar pictures of all players who don't match my skin tones.
It would be sexist if I said I didn't want to see any players whose parts don't match mine.
It would be age-ist if I said I didn't want to see any players who are old.

However, it isn't anything if I say that you're either a troll or an idiot.
With that being decided, I would endorse such an option and I would not be insulted it there were a mirroring option on the screens of those typing in cyrilic who can't understand english and are tired of seeing it.

You want to hide the communication of everyone who doesn't speak your langugae. What is that if it isn't xenophobia?

Wow... A real bleeding heart here...
Well, seeing as I don't read Cyrillic, what about it is offensive?
Do you speak Cyrillic in-game? If not, I really don't know why you're getting offended on someone elses behalf. If this idea ever got any traction, I would be very disappointed if it was not presented to those affected in a language that they understand for their thoughts. But seeing as they are perfectly capable human beings, maybe we should leave the getting offended by blocking Cyrillic to those that might actually be offended by such a block?
Or, you can continue to spout your crap and this thread will quickly become devoid of any form of logic or reason.

I'm sure you prefer the latter, so I will operate under that assumption without waiting around to read your offensive to me reply. Yes, I am offended by you being offended by my point of view. :) Have a nice day

I don't understand what is being said, i don't read cyrillic and i don't speak any eastern european languages, it's just lines of annoying text that serves no purpose.

I'm not saying people should stop using cyrillic, or be forced to have i filtered out. i just wanted the option i remove it locally on my client.

"Hello, it's CCP Insertmynamehere and today we're announcing that we decided to improve user experience with chat UI by adding an option to filter out anything spoken in a native language of very specific national groups of players because some random forum user reported that people belonging those specific national groups are collectively douchebags that cba to talk language this specific user can understand when he isn't even supposed to in the first place. We also should mention that douchebags who speak other languages user in question don't understand won't be filtered because they belong to other language groups which are harder to discriminate against, besides we are told that people who don't use cyrillic are generally less douchebags, so we decided to just roll with that. Of course this doesn't solve any real issues of aforementioned user due to existence of transliterration which will be used by group of players in question when they absolutely have to say something in local, but we think it's enough to just show our intention of being discriminative pricks towards certain group of players even if that doesn't really make anybody's life better".

Hello CCPfuckface, I would like to petition that since you're obviously sticking with the idea of going full ****** all the time why not just improve user experience even further and filter out your own forum posts. :)

Well as strange request go but would it not be easier just to have an auto translate feature, so those of us who can only manage to read one language can respond to the taunts written in other languages because cutting and pasting into google translate is too much work P.
