Polaris is an inaccessible system in Jovian space where devs and ISD leave their characters when they need to be logged in for whatever reason.

I don't know whether this is an impending RP event or a bit of fun on CCP's part; I'm inclined to say the latter, since something like Polaris shouldn't really exist in the prime fiction.
