Faction spawns, DED sites, LP stores, AFAIK.

This.

As for the REAL rare ones: Alliance Tournament has given out special edition blueprints in the past. Those are the really rare ones.

when you say "faction spawn", please define what a faction spawn is....

does faction spawn include "rats" that i would find near stargates and "rats" that i find in asteroid belts out in npc nullsec?

sorry for the noob question....just want to know what "faction spawn" is defined as...

By "faction spawn", typically what is meant is elite pirate faction NPC spawn.

Example: Guristas rats are common in Caldari hisec, but if you see Dread Guristas you should definitely destroy those. Admittedly in hisec Dread Guristas most often drop faction ammo, but I have gotten faction modules from the odd elite frigate.

The main place will be the commanders at the end of deadspace complexes. These will have some number of deadspace modules, and possibly pirate implants and/or pirate ship BPCs, as well as items called something like 'Officer's Personal Effects' which can be sold to NPCs for tens of millions of ISK.

You can shoot everything in a deadspace complex yourself, or you can find someone else running such a site and cloak up, watch them shoot up the site, then quickly snaffle the loot and warp out. If you do the latter, remember to thank your assistant in local chat.

And remember that looting wrecks of another player is a Suspect action.
So get into a safe position (docked in station or cloaked in a safespot) and wait for 15 minutes for the timer to drop.
