I don't know what thread branch you thought I was referring to, but the thread branch I was referring to was:

I'll let you continue to argue the pedantry branch if you absolutely want. vOv

I'm not sure whether or not you are addressing this to me. You don't seem to be very good at indicating what subject you are talking about.

I'm sorry you're not good at reading context. It must make posting on forums very difficult.

Wake me up when Blue Ice goes up to about 700k per block and oxytopes are over 2300-ish ISK per.
That's when I'll know the Goons managed to do their job.

So, I kinda' kept sleeping and nobody woke me up, then I got bored.

Logged in, let's see...
Blue Ice -> almost managed to break 600k, which is still not quite 700k, then all that traded today was a measly 250k
Oxygen Isotopes -> temporarily losing momentum on their third (second large) climb, peaked at around 1400, not quite 2300-ish yet either.

Hmm... come on guys, you can still do it !
Maybe after another 2 months of interdiction you can finally break through that 2k ceiling and have it stabilize above it.
That, or, you know, just buy another couple of billion units from whoever still has some and is willing to sell for less than 2k ?

So, what's going on? The interdiction seems to be stumbling. Yesterday, ice miners were all over Gallente ice fields in Everyshore. I checked 6 systems, and only saw one GoonWaffe pilot - and the miners in that system returned in force shortly after he docked up after his kill. The killboard shows only 6 kills for the day, but I saw at least 30 macks happily mining away. And, over the past two weeks, there have often been less than a dozen Goon pilots posting kills on miners on any given day.

C'mon, guys! Don't fumble it now!

Winter patch is coming. They have better things to do now than gank ice miners.

Is that your way of saying "Winter is coming. There will be plenty of ice soon." perhaps ?

Goons have ADD. The patch that is coming in Winter will release fun new ships. Ice interdiction, like the Delve freeport invasion, is just an attempt to keep bored pilots logging into a boring game. As soon as the Winter patch hits, Interdiction will probably pause for at least a little while in efforts to fly the new ships in new and fun ways.

There's plenty of blue ice, if you know where to look. Farther than any goon would dare venture.

The people of MD and the MD forum are two very different things. I can assure you that many denizens of MD considered oxytopes "old news" long before the goons ever started posting in the forum, and long before most goons knew what was happening.

The forum is for public notices of investment offerings, long-winded arguments, and blatant manipulation attempts. Very little market intelligence is to found on the forum.

Blowing up POCOs seems like a much more interesting way to annoy industrialists and I doubt the Goon rank and file will want to suicide in their shiny new T3 Battlecruisers early on when they're not easy to replace. I imagine your guys will prefer to go roaming Nullsec in battlecruiser fleers.

On the other hand the cost in isk of running your gallente ice interdiction is negligible, it provides an extra avenue by which your members can entertain themselves and in many cases people will have an alt for nullsec and an alt for ice ganking and uncertainty doesn't hurt the effect.

So I expect the policy of interdicting ice to continue but the amount of attacks to decline. Especially since a lot of the ganking seems to have been done by senior people (Mittens, Weaselior). Then you'll do a few nights ganking at some future point when you need a break from sov war.

So I imagine oxytopes will become a little cheaper when the expansion hits, partly because of the seesaw effect with PI materials and partly because of Goons being busy but then will rise over the longer term.

Really? So, you are saying that the interdiction actually really is only a short-term event, like Hulkageddon, and may fade away after the Winter patch, then, as GoonWaffe piliots find more fun things to do? :P

If so, then I think that the ace kamikazes, incl. Weaselior and esp. Atrum Veneficus, really should be seeing a bigger slice of the profits from this little scam... er, I mean, venture.

we sort of cheated: since we planned the whole thing we were ready to begin as soon as we started (and had been testing fits and strategies for a few days beforehand) so we were able to rack up a shitton of kills while all the bots didn't know what was going on

you could rack up kill streaks with ease then that are virtually impossible now

people have claimed that before, trying (poorly) to manipulate the price down

don't waste your energy stockpilers who are still holding at this point aren't going to be spooked by noname alt #56345 claiming massive mining is going on once again
