One simple question about languages of EVE

I heard long long ago Tranquility had an option of Chinese( but don't know the exact period) and concealed it later.

I wonder if it is due to the agency agreement of Serenity in China?

Frankly speaking, as is known to me, actually many "good"( here means real hardcore, not bots, noobs, farmers which are hated by all players on the earth) Chinese are very willing to play with all players from all over the world just because the languistic obstruction baffles them.

EVE now has English,Russian,German and even Japanese(THIS IS NOT A DISCRIMINATION! Just point out that There are much fewer players from Japan than from China but they still have a customized language system.)

As a Chinese player, I feel very sad about this because only few people from China who are to some extent good at English came here, the Tranquility, to enjoy the epic of "One Universe" but the majority of Chinese players can not have a chance to use their talents and skills to earn people's trust, to earn people's respect, to eliminate the unfair racial discrimination on Chinese players just because most farmers and RMT organizers are Chinese( As a true player, I HATE THEM just like you !).

So I want to know the main reason for this.
Thank you warm-hearted guys

More details if possible.

Yes, there is no problem with the connection and the payment.

Without an option of Chinese is pretty fine with me.

For your country , French and all other western countries, English is not your native language, but it is widely used in your daily life so you have many many chances to speak it, whatever willing or forced.

But The situations in China are kind of different. Only people with very good education or who once majored in English have the ability to communicate in English.

And do you have an idea how many Chinese players are on Severity Server?
About 3-4 times as big as Goonswarm regardless of inactive players!

CCP was required by chinese law to have a local partner that holds at least 51% of the shares. They decided against it and went with a license agreement. There where further other laws govern content in (online) games. It was a sound business decision to offload the burden of localisation (you really have to know what you do in that field) entirely to a chinese company.

RMT had nothing to do with it as the farmers had arrived on TQ already.

If you play EVE well those two points should not be on the list of rewards.

Outside of China Cantonese is the most common dialect, so there is no "of course."

Ahh, here it is. The plan to unite Serenity with Tranquility

No need to cry discrimination etc.. My understanding is the seperate server thing is to accommodate some Chinese law. Also, the localization agreement with Optic might disallow localization in tranquility.

My choice of pronouns is based on your avatar. Even if I know what is behind the avatar.

no in most cases they don't. But I bet you don't know unfortunately some good-skilled players still got very unfair treatment from their corp or alliance just because they don't think Chinese players are good or worth respect. those matters are widely known among Chinese players.

Anyway in general its good for EVE to have more pilots without a hesitate and CCP will be very happy to do that.

First much obliged for the link and your explanation.

But I think I have to correct one the most common mistakes----Chinese Cantonese is the most common dialect indeed, but Mandarin is the official language of China so that means every educated Chinese can speak mandarin and have a good understanding of it ,in contrary to the fact that only few people understand Cantonese regardless of it ranking first among dialects.
