The outcome and the opinions thereof matter far less when one considers that a live event got more people to go to nullsec at once than just about anything else that happened in the game.

I want a real statistic to use when the nullsec ragers, bored for lack of targets or ship-spinning because there's a neutral in local, come into these forums complaining about "risk averse carebears". Be advised that the live event was on a weekday too, not in a major US TZ either (and during work hours for US TZs). If there's a number in the thousands, with factors like this, every "high seccers are afraid to go to nullsec" argument is dead.

And that should be seen as an accomplishment. When the smoke clears from the griping and boasting, someone at CCP needs a pat on the back for at least this much, even if it did turn into an un-announced lemming run.

I have some rough stats you can have. Peak population in Sarum Prime was 1290. Meves was slightly over 900 but the exact figure I cannot get for some reason... Doril peaked at 1170, RMOC at 327, 8V at 448. These are only peaks, not throughput, but I would estimate that between 2500-4000 people got involved in fighting. Overall peak numbers involved (including those who dropped out at low/null) are probably around 3000-5000, but that's guesswork. In summary, less overall than BFCP, but a very nice number considering the difference in build up and advertising between the two events.

Those numbers definitely indicate that there are many who want live events in general!

I agree wholeheartedly, EvE is so much more than the sum of it's Parts.

Thousands of people hungered for the opportunity to be part of EvE, to be there, to partake in something glorious.

We can get there, not this time, but CCP in conjunction with the people of eve can reach that goal.

Eve is a blueprint where we can write the lines, a play where we can craft the narrative, a painting that depicts new glories.

We need to remember, wherever we are, there is one EvE

We want to be part of it !

There is one EvE. Many people. Many lifestyles. WE are EvE

You like the look of your words too much.

Not 24 hours ago you were bemoaning both the game and CCP, and now suddenly you're all for player freedom and consequence?

Hrm.

I don't think anyone was bemoaning the game - a certain attitude towards it, yes. CCP's lack of comments, yes. This big mess-up, yes. But if we thought the game was that bad we wouldn't have bothered asking for "satisfaction".

Then you fail at reading and should go back to school, since people have said time & time again that it is not about what was lost but about the fact that CCP did not allow most players to even get to the event despite the fact we went where they told us to, and started moving when they told us to start, before they called the event over and the pirates won.
Then they further insult us all by posting a false devblog that doesn't acknowledge that most high sec fleets were still battling Tidi & in transit when they declared a pirate victory, instead retconning history to say that the pirates defeated us in combat.

I don't know which ticked me off the most, the fact the devs had a technical fail by not reinforcing the nodes, or the fact the roleplay element was completely forfeit.

Thanks for enlightening us. Now I suggest you spend the next two hours reading the threadnought, so you can figure out what we're "butthurt" about and at least pretend to have something meaningful to say.

I liked the part where the largest military action taken by the empires in 200 years was one ship magically teleporting itself to a destination and dying.

How are the empires even powerful, someone please explain.

Look up Jamal Sarums coronation, the fleet the Devs put together for that, then consider that Military Parades are nowhere near any Empires true military strength, just the ceremonial parts & the local battle fleets that aren't needed on active duty.

Which makes it even sadder that it was one ship per Empire as their entire contribution when they were meant to be spearheading the operation with support from capsuleers.

You do realize, that's just a trailer and didn't actually happen in game, right?

Still shows how many ships the Empires can field simply for a ceremonial parade while still keeping their full fighting force out there.

You know, instead of explaining it to you in painfully long detail, I'll let you work out for yourself why games can't always do like their super-cool trailers.

Other than the small aspect where they made it using the Dev server..... So it was actual game footage.

But that wasn't my point, my point was that it is part of the lore that the Empires fleets are large enough and that's why they are still in power. That was simply a good graphic illustration of the actual power of the Empires. Rather than the crappy two bit tin pot empires that got portrayed in the last event.

Well its definitely not me that's for sure.

On a side note, does anyone actually think the Empires will declare war on capsuleer corporations/alliances? only, I find the lack of dialogue between the two kind of strange.
