EMP mine

The mine is the size of a freighter cargo can and is thereby only deploy-able by (jump) freighters

Main purpose is to knock out the capacitor of any vessels that come into range which makes it harder for ships with interdiction nullifiers to move through nullsec unimpeded.

It can not determine the difference between friend or foe and will go off if either come within it activation range.

Has a long spin up time and will only go off once every 15min with the first pulse ready to go off 15min after anchoring. A timer displays over the mine which shows anyone who is interested and on grid how long till it's ready to go off again or if it's ready to go off now.

Expensive and with a limited range, they should be hard to use effectively but can change the battlefield in your favor in an instance.

I don't think most people would risk 6 bil to do that.

then they could use a normal freighter, the brackets were meant to imply either and good, that means they won't show up EVERYWHERE in new eden and if they do.... many expensive freighters will be dying as a result

You can warp out with as long as you have at least 1 capacitor regenerated (if you are dumb enough to get caught in this nonsense), so your suggestion does not fulfill its purpose.

which is funny, an interceptor usually means scout. If they want a fight they have a good chance its on the other side of the gate with what the inty was scouting for.
